Chapter 343: A Direct Strike Against the Divine Strength Empire! A Show of Force!
TL: Sungmin
The ancient dragon clan had been a tremendous help to Lin Tian.
In fact, if it hadn’t been for the Purple-Gold Dragon Mother restraining the Sword Saintess Alice at the very beginning, the story would have concluded a long time ago.
Thus, Lin Tian intended to assess their current strength and then decide on how to cultivate them further.
He couldn’t let them remain faceless and without standing in the Legendary Dragon Nest.
The requirements to gain face and status were simple.
Strength.
“Prepare to withstand the dragonfire!”
At that moment, Bernard looked at the molten meteors falling from the sky and shouted.
Magical shields were hurriedly deployed.
The bulk of the dragonfire was successfully blocked.
However, the black fireballs mixed within could not be entirely stopped.
They melted through the shields and ignited several buildings within the city.
If this continued, the entire city would be destroyed.
Bernard cursed internally. “A dark-element dragon! Damn it, aren’t those dragons supposed to only exist in the Legendary Dragon Nest?! This is bad!”
“Your Highness, kill these lizards quickly! Riverbend City is doomed!”
The mayor, Ramon, waddled around in a panic, clutching his round belly while dodging the annihilating dragonfire spewed by Little Black.
The entire city was only two to three kilometers in diameter—barely two to three thousand meters.
Aside from the Purple-Gold Dragon Mother, each dragon was a towering thousand meters in size.
Destroying a small city like this was effortless for them.
Bernard couldn’t spare a thought for anything else. “Damn dragons! If you have any guts, transform into humanoid forms and fight us!”
Hearing this, Little Black glanced at Lin Tian. “Father, what should we do next?”
“Do as you like, as long as you can take care of these pests,” Lin Tian replied.
Although he was merely spectating from the side, he was ready to intervene should any danger arise.
Little Black pondered briefly. “Then let’s go humanoid. Our dragon forms’ attacks won’t be effective against them.”
While their dragon forms excelled in large-scale destruction, they weren’t ideal for dealing with small, coordinated squads.
“Alright!”
Spark responded firmly.
The dragons soared to the riverside and transformed into their humanoid forms.
Each retained their distinctive colors and radiated a majestic aura, clad in armor adorned with sharp scales.
An adventurer smirked arrogantly. “They really transformed! Beasts will always be beasts, so dumb. Now we can hunt them down one by one. Heh heh!”
They belonged to an experienced team of Mythic-Class adventurers.
Their combat awareness and teamwork were unparalleled.
This confidence was well-earned.
But suddenly, Bernard’s expression shifted drastically. His body stiffened, and he shouted, “Stop! Everyone, stop! Look over there!”
He pointed into the distance.
His gaze landed on Lin Tian and his group.
The aura emanating from them was as overwhelming as a towering mountain, suffocating anyone nearby!
From the very first glance, Bernard had sensed something was wrong. That was why he had yelled for his team to halt.
“When… when did those people appear?”
“What a terrifying presence! If I had charged forward just now, I would have died!”
“They haven’t even made a move, but the people behind those dragons feel unimaginably strong!”
“Damn it, what kind of monsters are they?!”
The Mythic-Class adventurers trembled as they spoke, their faces growing increasingly grim.
Their focus had shifted entirely away from Little Black and the other dragons.
Instead, it was locked on Lin Tian and the group behind them.
They were utterly terrified.
Bernard forced his trembling hands to steady and muttered in disbelief, “Are these dragons their mounts? How is it possible for anyone to control ancient dragons?!”
Even taming a wyvern—a far less noble magical beast—was a near-impossible feat.
Wyverns were considered the most elite units in the Northern Snowfields.
Controlling ancient dragons? Unthinkable.
“You… who are you people? Why are you attacking this city? This is territory governed by the Star Guild!” Bernard demanded, his attention now fully on Lin Tian.
Though the Star Guild was merely a guild, its strength rivaled that of entire nations.
It naturally possessed vast territory.
Lin Tian’s eyes glimmered with mockery, but he didn’t bother to reply.
Bernard’s face twitched in frustration. “Don’t underestimate us!”
With that, he charged toward Little Black and the others!
In close combat, the Mythic-Class adventurers quickly demonstrated their years of honed teamwork.
A probing attack revealed that the Purple-Gold Dragon Mother was the weakest among them.
“Focus fire on the purple dragon first, then the fire dragon!” Bernard commanded.
Shield-bearers worked to shove Little Black—who was the strongest—away. Warriors wielded blades to pressure Spark and the Purple-Gold Dragon Mother.
Meanwhile, mages used complex spells to disrupt and restrain the Purple-Gold Dragon Mother, leaving her no room to escape.
Before long, they had her cornered, pushing her to the brink of death!
Others wanted to help, but they couldn’t do a thing.
Bernard grinned with smug satisfaction. “Die… you beast!”
But just as his blade neared the Purple-Gold Dragon Mother, an overwhelming killing intent wrapped around him like a serpent, holding him in a death grip.
The others felt it too!
The adventurers, frozen in terror, found their hearts nearly stopping. None of them knew how to respond.
Their gazes all turned toward Lin Tian’s direction.
That was where the killing intent emanated from!
“You… what’s the meaning of this? Are you treating us like playthings for your trials? Damn you!” Bernard ground his teeth in rage, feeling utterly humiliated.
He had already figured it out.
If they fought these dragons with intent to kill, they would be struck down in an instant.
Lin Tian finally spoke. “You’re clever. But sometimes, being too clever is a curse. Keep going. If you manage to survive, I might just spare you.”
In the end.
Unable to go all out, the Mythic-Class adventurers either died or were gravely injured!
They stood no chance against Little Black and the others.
Lin Tian’s objective was achieved as well. He could now estimate Little Black and the others’ specific combat capabilities to gauge their upper limits.
The combat strength of dragons could not be compared to that of ordinary people.
Dragon form and humanoid form were fundamentally different, so purely relying on system combat numbers was inaccurate.
By the end of the battle, only Bernard remained alive.
As for Little Black’s group:
The Purple-Gold Dragon Mother faced death ten times over.
The Flame Dragon Mother faced it five times.
Spark had one near-death encounter.
All of them had sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Lin Tian, however, was impressed by Little Black’s performance. Aside from Bernard, none of the Mythic-Class adventurers could suppress her.
In humanoid form, their combat power was roughly 15,000.
With this data, Lin Tian now had a clear plan on how to train them further.
Bernard, now covered in claw marks and blood, knelt on the ground in despair. “You demons! Why… why is this happening?!”
He had dreamed of finding a fortune in the Wilderness, envisioning a life of luxury.
Instead, he had perished in such a backwater place!
Lin Tian walked slowly toward him. “Let me ask you something. How strong is the strongest person on the Divine Continent? Can they defeat me?”
“You…? A mere goblin…”
Bernard looked up at Lin Tian, a trace of disdain in his gaze.
Though he could sense an overwhelming aura, he assumed it came from Alice or the One-Eyed Owl.
He had never imagined it could belong to a goblin.
Boom!
With a simple backhand motion, Lin Tian unleashed a blazing holy light blast, tearing through the river and sending water soaring dozens of meters into the air!
As the spray subsided, it revealed a mountain on the opposite bank that had been pierced through!
A mere Judgment Execution skill now unleashed power far beyond its previous limits.
This scene.
It left Bernard completely dumbfounded, his eyes wide with shock!
He never expected this goblin to be the leader! “A mere goblin… How could something like this possess such power?! Have the magical beasts of the Wilderness become this terrifying?”
“The Wilderness? Yes, I come from there. And by the way, I’m its… king. That’s fair to say,” Lin Tian replied, stepping on Bernard’s head. “Now it’s your turn to answer.”
Bernard felt his skull on the verge of shattering. Panicked, he stammered, “Your strength… It should be the strongest among the Seven Great Empires’ forces! Please, spare me! I can tell you more!”
The strongest?
Hearing this, Lin Tian raised an eyebrow. “Are the people of the Divine Continent this weak? Then why would a backwater city like this station Mythic-Class adventurers like you?”
His earlier reasoning suggested the strongest on the Divine Continent had a combat power of at most 30,000.
Not worth his concern.
But the appearance of these adventurers had challenged that assumption.
“We were merely passing through! I swear, among the Seven Great Forces, we count as some of the best.”
Bernard, thoroughly frightened, spilled everything immediately.
This cleared things up for Lin Tian. “Is that so? Then I can rest easy. Tell me everything you know about the Divine Continent.”
He proceeded to interrogate Bernard on various topics.
Mainly information about the empire’s forces and their strongest individuals.
Bernard dutifully answered every question in detail.
“Goblin King, can… can you spare me now?” Bernard asked cautiously, desperate to leave this wretched place.
Lin Tian waved dismissively, signaling him to leave.
Seeing this, Bernard bolted like a freed bird.
But in the next moment, a massive dragon’s maw engulfed him. The sound of his body being crushed into pulp echoed faintly.
The group remained indifferent, their faces showing no concern.
“What do you all think of this place? From what we’ve seen, if we flatten those two mountains up ahead, the land will be flat for dozens of kilometers. The river is wide and could run through the city, adding some scenery,” Lin Tian asked, turning to his group.
He spoke as if the Mayor of Riverbend City, Ramon—frozen in shock nearby—didn’t even exist.
They began discussing and planning how to develop the area as their territory.
Alice didn’t have any specific demands. “Whatever, as long as His Majesty thinks it’s fine.”
“I feel the same. I’m just here for some fun and to see that so-called Divine Strength Hercules! I want to find out if he’s really the one who forced my mother and then abandoned her!”
The One-Eyed Owl clenched her fists, her eyes blazing like fire.
Her rage was already at its peak, ready to ignite at any moment.
Since no one objected, Lin Tian said, “Then, Princess Katheryn, you can set up the magic teleportation array here.”
First, they would transport manpower to clear the land and prepare the site.
After that, the specific planning and design would be handed over to Bill.
Lin Tian had no knowledge of such matters himself.
“Goblin King, you… what are you planning to do? Please, spare us!”
A trembling voice broke the momentary quiet.
The mayor, Ramon, was kneeling on the ground, kowtowing repeatedly in fear.
Lin Tian paused, momentarily taken aback. “Oh? I nearly forgot about you lot. I’ll give you half a day to pack up and leave.”
There was no longer any need to slaughter these humans.
They didn’t lack food, nor experience, nor production tools.
More importantly, they didn’t lack potential residents eager to flock to the city once the capital was established.
Killing them would serve no purpose.
On the contrary.
The presence of these humans resembled small animals, adding a touch of amusement to daily life.
“Thank you, Goblin King! Thank you! We’ll leave right away!”
Ramon scrambled back to town, shouting frantically for everyone to evacuate as quickly as possible.
Lin Tian then ordered, “Gobu Kuang, and Purple-Gold Dragon Mother, you’ll stay here and guard Katheryn while she sets up the magic array. The rest of us will notify the locals.”
“Yes, Boss!”
Gobu Kuang nodded.
Since they were already here and had assessed the enemy’s strength, they needed to make a strong impression to prevent future interference during the empire’s construction.
Using the Divine Continent map they had seized from Bernard, Lin Tian mounted Little Black and set off.
He aimed directly for the strongest empire, the Divine Strength Empire, seeking some entertainment.
The map clearly marked the locations of the Seven Great Empires and the territories controlled by the City of Wicked Sages.
It also included details absent from most publicly available maps:
The Elf Kingdom, Dwarven Kingdom, Sea Tribes, various monster kingdoms, hidden realms, territories of mysterious forces, and landmarks such as Mount Olympus and the Temple of the Sun, frequent haunts of the gods.
After all, Bernard and his party were Mythic-Class adventurers, and adventurers, by definition, roamed far and wide.
They naturally knew many places.
Before long.
A series of large towns came into view, and Lin Tian couldn’t help but marvel at the abundance of resources in this region, capable of sustaining so many people.
No wonder his homeland had been labeled as the Wilderness.
Finally, when the colossal Divine Strength capital city appeared on the horizon, stretching beyond what the eye could see, Lin Tian truly understood how insignificant the empires he had previously fought tooth and nail to conquer were.
In a distant land, there were still so many magnificent existences.
However…
In a sense, they were now his.
Whoosh!
The dragon flew over the Divine Strength Empire.
The shadow it cast blotted out the sun, a nightmarish presence that weighed heavily on every resident’s heart, filling them with dread.
But when the radiant silver-armored knights appeared, the citizens calmed down.
Soon, the entire city was on high alert.
Massive dragon-hunting ballistae were rolled out.
The defensive preparations were formidable.
It was evident these people were experienced in dealing with dragon assaults.
Lin Tian, however, ignored them entirely, flying straight toward the palace.
“Well then, let’s meet the strongest being on this continent…”
