From Goblin to Goblin God - Chapter 362
Chapter 362: I’m Just a Goblin
TL: Sungmin
They didn’t say this out of kindness.
It was because of Loael’s potential and strength.
Even if Satan were resurrected, it didn’t mean he could defeat all of the Divine Pantheon.
He had been sealed away by the combined efforts of several pantheons before, so now he needed the power of the Old Gods.
Upon hearing this, Loael’s expression remained firm. “Enough. I am the noble God-King of the Star Sea. I won’t stoop so low as to frame someone over a mere weapon or magical device.”
No matter what, Lin Tian had already proven himself through his actions.
If she still chose to conspire with Megicula and the others to falsely accuse him, it would be a disgrace to her status as a God-King.
“You’re utterly foolish! Then stay out of our business! This is for the greater good!” Dante cursed and swore.
Loael turned to Lin Tian again. “Aren’t you going to resist at all? The dwarves are fiercely protective of their own. If you fall into their hands, you’ll be dead for sure!”
She couldn’t even imagine how gruesome his death would be if they sent him into the bunker.
Megicula, Dante, and the others grinned maliciously.
As long as they could obtain a God-Slaying Weapon, they would stop at nothing.
However—
Lin Tian simply shrugged. “Oh? If I survive, there’s something important I want to tell you. It’s about an Old God and the cycle of reincarnation.”
“You know about that? Don’t go throwing your life away! If you run now, there’s still time!” Loael spoke anxiously.
Seeing this, Megicula sensed that something was off and called out toward the steel fortress ahead. “Your Majesty, the esteemed Dwarven King! I am Megicula of the Satanic Cult. I have an urgent matter to report!”
At that moment, a magic formation branded into the steel fortress began to glow.
A light circle manifested, and within it appeared the projected image of the Dwarven King.
He looked quite similar to Hotu—both had deep blue skin and fur—but his face bore additional red markings.
A golden crown rested upon his head.
His presence alone radiated authority, commanding respect without the need for anger.
The armor he wore was unlike anything conventional.
Rather than fitting snugly to his body, it resembled an external exoskeleton, equipped with numerous intricate devices.
It looked like something out of futuristic technology.
One of his eyes was also fitted with a precision instrument.
This was the Dwarven King, the Forge God Berus.
“Your Highness Megicula, speak.”
The Dwarven King’s voice rang out slowly.
Even the fact that he used projection magic to communicate spoke volumes about the bunker’s formidable defenses and vigilance.
They hadn’t even opened a single entrance.
Countless dark barrels of magic cannons and physical artillery had already locked onto Lin Tian and the others.
If they unleashed a barrage, even the strongest defenses would be obliterated!
Lin Tian had already made some calculations upon arriving. The fortress had at least ten thousand conventional defense turrets and over a thousand special firepower points!
With such terrifying firepower, it was no wonder the dwarves had the confidence to stand against God-Kings.
Conventional defenses were essentially turrets, while special firepower included magic formations capable of releasing elemental attacks, poison gas, summoning puppets, and more.
Upon hearing this, Megicula bowed respectfully. “Your Majesty Berus, I bring grave news. Marquis Hotu… has perished. He was brutally murdered by this goblin!”
“What?! Hotu!”
The Dwarven King’s emotions visibly flared as his gaze landed on the corpse on the ground.
The precision instrument in his eye flared with an intense red glow.
He questioned with seething hatred, “A goblin?! How did a mere low-level monster like a goblin kill him?! How did it even get inside?!”
“It was an accident. This goblin was originally our ally, but he clashed with Marquis Hotu, which led to this tragedy. However, we apprehended him immediately and have brought him before you for your judgment, Your Majesty!” Megicula continued.
At this point, this was the only way to clear her own name—and perhaps, secure a God-Slaying Weapon in the process.
At that moment, Loael kept signaling to Lin Tian with her eyes. As long as he hadn’t stepped into the bunker yet, he still had a chance to escape.
If he really went inside, he would be doomed.
Once outside, there was no way the dwarves would send troops after him.
They wouldn’t go so far as to sever ties with them over Hotu’s death.
After all, they were still in the same boat.
The Dwarven King fell silent for a moment, but the fury in his expression was impossible to conceal. “I understand. Goblin, no matter what, I will not show you mercy! Prepare yourself for a fate worse than death!!”
“Guards! Dispatch a Destruction Army to escort him inside!”
The Destruction Army consisted of elite dwarves clad in Sun-Class armor and armed with Sun-Class weapons.
The lowest part of the bunker began to tremble slightly. Like the unlocking of a massive gate, a gap slowly opened.
The sheer thickness of the opening alone was a full three meters!
Through the gap, the fortress walls were revealed to be at least ten meters thick!
Even if it were made of iron, no God-King could possibly break through!
Not to mention, this was a special alloy the dwarves had spent centuries refining!
It possessed an unparalleled resistance to magic.
However—
Lin Tian wasn’t shocked at all. Instead, he found it laughable.
These dwarves, so set in their ways, had completely underestimated the gods.
If he really wanted to enter, it would be easy. He could simply activate Jehovah’s Blessing, allowing his body to enter a phased state.
Just like when he had seized the Demon Fruit before, he could phase through anything, completely ignoring physical barriers.
But the moment Lin Tian was escorted to the entrance of the bunker, his heart suddenly tensed!
“Magic nullified?! I see…”
Lin Tian muttered in amazement. This bunker’s material could neutralize or at least significantly weaken magic.
If he used Jehovah’s Blessing, the original three-second invincibility would be reduced to barely a fraction of a second.
No wonder these dwarves were so confident.
If magic could be weakened, it meant the only way in was through brute force.
Yet, the surface of the bunker was lined with tens of thousands of turrets.
Any long-range magical attacks would lose nearly all effectiveness upon approach, rendering them useless.
The only way in was through direct, physical assault.
And no matter how strong a body was, it couldn’t withstand such overwhelming firepower.
Even a god would be torn apart.
As the massive gate closed behind him, Lin Tian’s figure disappeared inside, escorted away along with Hotu’s corpse.
Loael could only watch, both anxious and helpless.
She didn’t understand why he was seeking death, nor why he had severed his contract at the last moment.
Of course—
This was just another of Lin Tian’s ways of manipulating people’s hearts.
At that moment, Megicula finally spoke up, revealing their true intentions. “Your Majesty, the Dwarven King, we have another matter to discuss.”
“Speak quickly! I want to personally make that goblin suffer beyond imagination!”
The Dwarven King gritted his teeth in hatred.
Dante grinned slyly and said, “With all the intelligence we’ve gathered and the schemes we’ve laid out over the years, no matter how we calculate, we still need two God-Slaying Weapons to reclaim Lord Satan’s body. Your Majesty, what do you think…?”
Upon hearing this, the Dwarven King’s face darkened, just as Hotu’s had before.
There was no way he would agree to such a request.
Seeing this, Megicula hurriedly added, “Your Majesty, you know as well as I do—even the weakest Solar Pantheon, despite lacking a God-King, still possesses three Prime Gods! Unlike the Heavenly Divine Pantheon, which has only one.”
“I’ve said it countless times—we have no extra God-Slaying Weapons or magical devices to spare. Our energy reserves are depleting, and a future war could determine the fate of the dwarves.”
The Dwarven King’s tone was irritated—of course, he was lying.
Still, he didn’t want to completely sever their relationship, so after a moment’s thought, he said, “Since you’ve been so honest and didn’t try to shield that goblin, I’ll grant each of you a Sun-Class Armor or Weapon!”
“Without a God-Slaying Weapon, we won’t stand a chance against Prime Gods or God-Kings! Their abilities are simply too monstrous!” Megicula continued pleading.
But—
No matter how much they begged, the answer wouldn’t change.
Desperate, Megicula shot Loael a look. “Why are you just standing there? Say something! Tell him that once the Old Divine Pantheon is restored, we’ll protect the Dwarven Kingdom, so they won’t have to keep hiding underground! He’ll definitely agree!”
Indeed.
Saying that would greatly increase the chances of success.
The Dwarven King might even find it reliable—after all, the Old Divine Pantheon’s God-King commanded immense authority.
They were worth trusting.
But—
Loael remained silent. This was her greatest show of respect toward Lin Tian.
She thought to herself, Even if I don’t understand why you chose death, I won’t stoop so low as to exploit you just to obtain a weapon.
“Besides, I’ll grant you an extra day to roam the surface cities. Enjoy experiencing our dwarven culture! The Sun-Class Magical Devices will be delivered later! That’s all.” The Dwarven King spoke hastily.
He was already eager to go and execute Lin Tian himself.
His projection vanished.
Megicula stomped her foot in frustration. “Damn it! Your Highness Loael, what’s wrong with you?! Can you even call yourself a proper ally?! With just one more God-Slaying Weapon, we could completely turn the tides of this war!”
Dante’s eyes gleamed with a sinister glint as he shot Loael a cold glare.
There was nothing left to say.
Only pure hatred remained.
“Since we’ve been granted a day to explore, we might as well make the most of it. Perhaps we can convince Berus through other dwarves.” Loael replied calmly.
Megicula and the others had no choice but to go along with it. However, the seed of resentment against Loael had already been planted.
…
Pureblood Dwarven Kingdom – The Bunker
This place—this was likely the true Dwarven Kingdom!
It spanned two layers, each roughly fifty kilometers in size—half the size of the Goblin Empire.
Combined, it was just as large.
Lin Tian was escorted by the Destruction Army dwarves. When he saw the inside of the bunker, he couldn’t help but be astonished!
The air was fresh! The vegetation was lush! Streams flowed gently!
Birds soared through the air, rabbits rustled in the underbrush, deer roamed freely—there was life everywhere!
Above, a bright artificial light source replaced the sun.
There were even climate control devices that could make it rain, produce wind, or even create snowfall.
“Hmph, amazed, are you?”
“Our dwarven wisdom is something you foolish goblins can never hope to reach!”
“Prepare yourself! You’ll die a miserable death for daring to kill Marquis Hotu!”
The soldiers’ faces were either filled with ridicule or burning hatred.
They escorted Lin Tian through the city, toward a grand palace that sat atop the highest tier of the layered cityscape.
This was where the Dwarven King resided—an imposing and magnificent place.
The city around it was built in terraced layers, much like a stepped plateau, with residential districts spread across each level.
Soon, they arrived at the royal palace.
Looking around, Lin Tian found himself awestruck. The entire kingdom could be seen in its full splendor.
The view was breathtaking.
Throughout the city, massive dwarven stone statues stood at key locations, each exuding an overwhelming presence.
“You’re the goblin who killed Hotu? You look absolutely filthy! Hideous! Pathetic! You reek of that disgusting low-level stench!!!”
Suddenly, a furious voice boomed.
The Dwarven King, Berus, strode out of the palace. Apart from his futuristic, high-tech armor, he bore a multicolored hammer insignia on his chest.
Gold represented the royal family, while multicolored signified the king.
It radiated brilliance.
Lin Tian remained calm and spoke evenly, “That’s right, I killed him. By the way, you seem to be living quite the comfortable life, huh, Dwarven King?”
“That’s none of your concern. What you should be worried about is how you’ll face the Pureblood Dwarven Kingdom’s wrath!” The Dwarven King growled viciously.
He continued, “Throughout our dwarven history, we’ve invented around three hundred different punishments—two hundred minor ones, such as whipping and forced labor.”
“Eighty severe punishments, such as finger-severing and ear-cutting.”
“Ten ultimate punishments—slow slicing, human swine, scorching torture… You should understand what you’re about to face now, right?”
The surrounding dwarven elites and nobles grinned wickedly.
It seemed that Hotu’s death didn’t matter much to them.
They were far more interested in torturing Lin Tian.
“That’s right! You’ll face all three hundred punishments, one after another!!!”
The Dwarven King declared at last, bursting into a crazed laugh.
Lin Tian let out a cold chuckle. “Oh, so scary. You dwarves must be really bored, spending your time inventing punishments just to amuse yourselves.”
“Hold it! We don’t torture people—only monsters and demihumans! Keh keh keh!”
A nearby dwarf, also wearing a golden hammer insignia, spoke up.
Looking at their twisted expressions, Lin Tian suddenly understood why these beings were often categorized as monsters.
At their core, they were just as savage as wild beasts.
Of course, many humans were no different.
“Snap!”
A crisp sound echoed. The chains binding Lin Tian shattered into pieces!
The surrounding dwarven nobles immediately changed expressions.
“He actually dares to resist?! How arrogant!!”
The Destruction Army elites swiftly surrounded him.
Each of them wielded Sun-Class abilities, the kind that even a Prime God would struggle against.
Yet, Lin Tian did not attack immediately. Instead, he spoke, “I didn’t come here to confess. I came to deliver an order. If you refuse to comply, you’ll end up like that guy over there.”
As he spoke, he gestured toward Hotu’s corpse.
“Deliver an order?”
“Hahahaha! This goblin is hilarious! If we didn’t know better, we’d think he was a God-King!”
“Too bad! Even a God-King has no authority to command us!”
“What kind of trash do you think you are?!”
The dwarves all jeered in disdain.
Lin Tian’s expression darkened as he answered slowly, “What kind of trash am I? Just a Goblin King who recently annihilated the Divine Strength Empire, the Northern Snowfields, the Desert Empire, the Sage’s City, and the War God Empire…”
“Oh, right. A while ago, there was a bunch of winged guys from the heavens—I wiped them out too.”
As he listed off each destroyed faction, the expressions of the dwarves grew darker.
Their laughter stopped.
Instead, their eyes filled with caution.
