Chapter 348: The Elf Kingdom, the Queen, and the Shadow Elf!
TL: Sungmin
“What should we do? You defeated the Angel Army, and it will definitely be known that you possess the qualifications to become a god!”
Celeste couldn’t help but voice her worry.
Gabriel was an immensely powerful figure, someone she couldn’t even imagine being defeated by Lin Tian.
The entire Angel Army had been utterly annihilated.
Yet, that wasn’t the most unacceptable part. The crucial point was that even Adam, proclaimed as the Son of God, had perished!
This situation had undoubtedly alerted God.
God would undoubtedly unite with the other Divine Pantheons to hunt Lin Tian down without hesitation.
Everyone wore expressions of sudden realization.
Grugia and Osius immediately began pretending to pack their things for an escape.
Bill, sobering up from his drunken stupor, exclaimed, “We’re doomed! I just remembered—I left my magic gear forge running back home!”
Seeing this, Lin Tian suddenly said, “Did you all forget what I just said? The Divine Pantheon will summon every being in existence to carry out an extinction-level hunt against us. Even if you hide underground, the monsters there will still find you.”
“What are we supposed to do, then? Doesn’t that mean we’re dead for sure?”
Bill’s face was full of despair, and even the wine in his hand lost its appeal.
The expressions on everyone’s faces grew grim. Heads bowed, their bodies felt weak just thinking about it.
Looking at their demeanor, Lin Tian didn’t mince his words. “Actually, we’re quite lucky. Celeste’s current Divine Core belongs to Lucifer. At the moment, God likely believes it was Lucifer who defeated the Angel Army.”
God wasn’t omnipotent or omniscient.
He was simply an exceptionally powerful being.
“However, he isn’t a fool. After some time, he’ll investigate and discover the truth. What we need to do is very simple…”
Lin Tian’s words trailed off.
Everyone’s expressions grew increasingly tense, their brows furrowed under the flickering light of the campfire.
Finally, Lin Tian revealed the solution. “We kill… God.”
“What!?”
Hearing this solution, most people were utterly stunned, their words caught in their throats.
From the time they were young, one of the most frequently heard phrases was, “Oh God, bless me!”
This implied God’s absolute strength and unquestionable authority.
The very thought of killing God was unthinkable.
Lin Tian continued, “This is the only way. If someone could inflict irreversible harm on us, then they must die…”
“I agree!”
As soon as Lin Tian finished speaking, Alice’s resolute voice echoed. Her beautiful eyes reflected the blazing fire, mirroring the flame in her heart.
The church had killed Charles II, the Lionheart King, and the head of the church was none other than God himself.
Naturally, she wished to see him dead.
The One-Eyed Owl laughed coldly. “How could something like this happen without me? My entire existence is for doing things like this!”
Hearing this, Grugia and Osius, who had been terrified moments ago, mustered their courage. “That’s right! We almost forgot the reason we joined the Dragon Slayer Guild in the first place—to chase thrills!”
“And as for me, there’s no need to even ask. Boss, even if you declared war on the entire Divine Pantheon, I’d still follow!”
Gobu Kuang chuckled, his concept of God far less ingrained.
From start to finish, he showed no fear whatsoever.
Bill hesitated, sighing as he said, “I can help, but only if we first acquire the God-Slaying Magic Gear from the Dwarven Kingdom. That’s the only way we’ll have a chance against God.”
Lin Tian walked over and patted his shoulder. “Well said! Master Bill, as expected of a master, you’ve thought this through thoroughly. You’d better put in a lot of effort when the time comes~”
“Heh heh…”
Bill forced a bitter smile, realizing he had no way out.
God-Slaying Magic Gear could only be obtained by either stealing the forging methods from the Dwarven Empire or manufacturing them. Enslaving the dwarves to forge it was almost impossible.
The dwarves’ nature was anything but cowardly. They would rather die fighting.
Otherwise, countless dwarves would have already been enslaved worldwide to mass-produce God-Slaying Magic Gear.
Lin Tian hadn’t entirely ruled out the possibility of enslaving the dwarves but was prepared for the worst-case scenario: stealing the forging methods and handing them to Bill for crafting.
The One-Eyed Owl chimed in, “Then what are we waiting for? Tonight, with the dark moon and strong winds, it’s the perfect time for a raid on the Dwarven Kingdom’s heart!”
“That can wait,” Lin Tian replied calmly. “Right now, we need to handle the allied forces from the various nations coming to attack us in three days.”
He briefly explained the plan for Hercules and his empire-led coalition preparing to launch a campaign against him.
He didn’t consider it a major concern.
Given the results of his Life Simulation System over the past few weeks, it would take several months before God realized it was Lin Tian who defeated the Angel Army.
There was still plenty of time to prepare to kill him.
The One-Eyed Owl smirked. “Those fools still don’t know when to quit? Perfect! I’ve been itching for a fight after being idle for a month. Let’s have some fun!”
Among the group, Pendragon, who had been drained of her magic power and reduced to an ordinary person by Gobu Jian’s Magic-Sealing Sword, curled up in the corner.
She could now be left unattended without fear of rebellion.
Completely stripped of her rebellious nature.
However, when she heard that Hercules and the others were assembling a coalition to subjugate the goblins, her dim eyes suddenly became clear!
“I’m saved! Saved! As long as I can escape here alive and regain my freedom, I don’t care even if I lose the Empire!”
Pendragon was overjoyed, choosing to ignore everything else Lin Tian said.
Her brain had already suffered damage, and she could only process matters directly related to her own interests.
After all, falling into the hands of Gobu Kuang and the others meant the other magical beasts, demons, and goblins who had contributed to Goblin King City were now enjoying the rewards.
…
Center of the Divine Continent.
The light of dawn spread across this ancient and powerful land.
Hercules gazed at the sky, his expression stern before transforming into a smile. “It seems Gabriel has won the battle after all. We won’t need to go and help establish the Church anymore.”
“Then… can we dispatch troops to wipe out those goblins now?” Perseus, standing nearby, asked with a sinister glint in his eyes.
Alongside them were the Desert Queen and Visawon, along with others from the Sage’s City.
Outside the capital, soldiers clad in finely crafted armor stood in tight formations, ready to march!
Every soldier’s face was brimming with confidence. In their eyes, subjugating the goblins was no different than clearing a level 1 dungeon they’d already conquered countless times.
After all, there were a full twenty million elite soldiers!
There was even a cavalry unit of magical beasts conscripted from the Northern Snowfields.
As for the Desert Queen’s five hundred thousand Sandstorm Soldiers, they could be summoned at any moment—so long as there was sand.
Visawon led five sages dressed in immaculate white robes, prepared to launch a campaign against the goblins.
This time, they were determined to succeed!
However, Visawon spoke, “Your Highness Hercules, your scouts report that the enemy only has a little over a million soldiers. Isn’t such a large force unnecessary?”
“Even a lion uses its full strength to hunt a rabbit,” Hercules replied smugly. “Besides, these soldiers have been sitting idle for too long. It’s time to drill them. Also, this isn’t just about the goblins; it’s a show of force to intimidate the other empires.”
Perseus nodded in agreement. “Lord Visawon, don’t be deceived by how docile the Elf Kingdom and Dwarf Kingdom seem now. They’re still holding grudges and could lash out at any moment! Striking fear into them is a critical strategy for any warlord.”
In the past, the human race had frequently captured elves and dwarves—either as playthings or to enslave and oppress them.
But as the elves and dwarves grew more united and established powerful empires, the humans had no choice but to relent.
“I see…” Visawon finally understood and refrained from saying more.
Perseus’s eyes lit up as he added, “Exactly! Now that we’ve formed an allied army, we can even try attacking the Elf Kingdom again! Imagine how satisfying it would be if we conquered it!”
Previously, the empires had been wary of each other, unwilling to weaken their forces despite their desire for the elves.
The Desert Queen, however, remained indifferent. “I’m not interested.”
As a woman, she had no desire for conquest. If the Pharaoh were present, he would have agreed without hesitation.
“We’ll discuss this later. For now, prepare for departure,” Hercules interrupted, turning forward to issue his command. “March! Head toward the Star Sanctuary!”
Lin Tian’s empire had been established within the borders of the Star Sanctuary.
Their campaign wasn’t just to subjugate Lin Tian but also to eradicate the Star Sanctuary in passing.
The massive army began its advance!
Its overwhelming momentum left all who witnessed it breathless!
Soon, their movements alarmed the scouts planted by the Elf Kingdom and Dwarf Kingdom.
…
Southern Divine Continent.
In the region of the primordial forest, countless towering trees stretched into the sky, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle!
The area resembled a vast, green “ocean.”
Just looking at it brought a refreshing sense of vitality, the air brimming with oxygen.
Within this “ocean” lived a variety of exotic creatures, magical beasts, and demi-humans.
Many species could not even be found in the Wilderness.
The elves originated from this primeval forest.
They were known as the daughters of nature, drinking dew, eating wild fruits, and possessing flawless, pure physiques.
The females, in particular, were each as breathtakingly beautiful as the next, capable of driving humans mad with desire.
At one time, elf trading had become rampant. Back then, a single elf was worth an unimaginable fortune.
Countless humans swarmed into the primordial forest, bringing disaster upon elf tribes one after another.
A single elf could provide enough wealth to last an ordinary person a lifetime.
Eventually, the elves united their tribes and established a vast Elf Kingdom at the center of the forest on a “Holy Mountain.”
Over a million elves now resided there.
The Holy Mountain was a vast area composed of dense mountain ranges with steep, complex terrain and an abundance of massive trees.
The elves’ lightweight bodies and exceptional archery skills gave them an enormous advantage in this environment.
Even if they couldn’t kill intruders, they could easily evade them.
This forced humans to abandon their attempts to capture elves.
It was simply too difficult.
On the highest peak of the Holy Mountain, magnificent and prosperous structures had been built over the years.
The Elf Queen’s palace was located there.
Surrounding it were rows of stunningly beautiful elf maidens, clad only in garments woven from a few cool leaves, standing guard.
Their fair skin gleamed like polished jade.
Looking at them stirred wicked thoughts in one’s heart.
Just like gazing upon a priceless gem—who wouldn’t feel the desire to claim it for themselves, to harbor malicious intent?
Of course, the nature of these wicked thoughts was different.
Outside a palace crafted entirely from emerald-green gemstones, a few graceful figures flitted by.
Cloaked and wrapped tightly, their bodies were completely concealed.
These were scouts deployed by the Elf Queen to monitor the outside world.
As they approached the palace to enter, they were stopped by a well equipped female elf commander.
Her stunningly beautiful face bore a heavy expression as she shook her head. “Her Majesty the Queen is unwell. If you have urgent news, tell me, and I’ll pass it on.”
“Yes, Commander Lita, we’ve discovered that the Divine Strength Empire, the War God Empire, the Shurima Empire, and the forces of Sage’s City have all joined forces.”
“The leader of the Northern Snowfields, Pendragon, was taken by a suddenly appearing goblin, and her territory has been divided up.”
“It’s highly likely that their current operation is aimed at subjugating the goblins who have appeared out of nowhere.”
The scouts all spoke at once.
Hearing this, the commander’s expression visibly changed. What shocked her most was that the four major imperial powers had actually chosen to cooperate!
In the past, they had always been wary of one another.
This was the very scenario the Elf Kingdom had hoped to avoid. Otherwise, if such a massive allied force were to march on the Holy Mountain, even the strongest defenses would be shattered.
From within the palace came a soft yet somewhat weak feminine voice: “Let them in.”
Commander Lita froze for a moment before pushing the doors open.
The interior was far from the vibrant, lush sanctuary of nature and beauty one might expect.
Instead, it was dark, shrouded in an unsettling black aura that filled the space with unease.
At the far end of the hall, behind a curtain, a faint silhouette could be seen kneeling.
A sinister purple light flickered across her form, making anyone who looked at her feel a chill of dread—as though faced with something unspeakably terrifying.
At the doorway, Lita’s expression shifted once more. She gazed at the curtained figure with a pained look in her eyes. “Her Majesty… the corruption of Shadow Power has worsened.”
It was reminiscent of the Fallen Angel Lucifer.
In her pursuit of strength, she had not hesitated to tread into forbidden territory.
The Elf Queen had done the same—becoming the legendary “Shadow Elf” to protect her people.
Her strength had undergone a cataclysmic transformation, earning her the reputation of a god-slaying assassin—the pinnacle of assassins!
But the power came with a cost. The Shadow Power slowly corroded her body and soul, eventually turning her into an unnamed shadow creature, devoid of consciousness and driven solely by a thirst for slaughter.
Within the hall, the elf scouts visibly trembled, unable to reconcile the terrifying figure before them with the Queen they once revered.
They wished they could flee immediately!
“How many elite soldiers do they have?” the Elf Queen’s frail voice echoed again.
The scouts stiffened and hurried to answer, “Including the magical beast cavalry they’ve absorbed from the Northern Snowfields, an estimated twenty to thirty million elite troops.”
Upon hearing this, the Queen’s aura shifted—oppressive and heavy. She muttered to herself, “So many… If they attack us, it will be a catastrophic disaster for the elves. If only we had allies to form our own coalition… but alas…”
The only potential ally that came to her mind was the Dwarf Kingdom.
But the dwarves specialized in fortress defense, having built a city with the strongest fortifications ever known. They had no intention of dispatching troops beyond their walls.
“You said they’re targeting the goblins? Do we have any concrete information about them? If possible, invite them to negotiate…” the Queen’s voice faltered.
She understood how absurd and risky it sounded to propose an alliance with the goblins.
Not to mention their savagery, they were an exceedingly weak race.
Utterly insignificant and easily crushed.
