Chapter 380: World Fusion! Plague World and the 552nd Layer of the Abyss?
TL: YYang
It had to be said that as his attributes and strength increased, Chen Bai’s desires also grew. However, there were far too few things that could satisfy his desires.
Only the Succubus Queen, Mekanshut, could fulfill Chen Bai’s needs in this regard.
For instance, the three before him now—all of them combined—couldn’t even put up the slightest resistance, let alone bring Chen Bai any satisfaction.
He wasn’t someone who took pleasure in cruelly destroying beauty. If it were an enemy, gender made no difference to him. However, when it came to his subordinates, he naturally wouldn’t resort to violence or slaughter to satisfy his own needs.
This was something Chen Bai had learned from certain experiences in his past life.
The Apostle of Desire relied on and exploited the deepest desires within the human heart.
Desires could be released, but they could never be allowed to grow uncontrollably without restraint.
Only through suppression could desires be released properly. Otherwise, he would become a mere follower or puppet under the Authority of Desire.
If that were the case, his ambition of humiliating and ultimately subduing Helrose would become infinitely more difficult.
Thus, Chen Bai had a very clear understanding of Desire. It was a power unlike any other, and mastering it required immense mental focus and willpower.
Although he couldn’t fully vent the desires of his physical body, the three women before him still brought him a great deal of mental satisfaction and pleasure. After all, their identities carried some additional allure, and their appearances bore an uncanny resemblance to certain popular celebrities—an entertaining novelty, to say the least.
With a wave of his hand, Chen Bai glanced at the three maids.
“Once your levels rise, switch professions and improve your strength a bit. It’s better than being so useless!”
He didn’t bother giving them any Profession Transfer Scrolls. With his status, he didn’t need to concern himself with such trivial matters.
Stretching lazily, Chen Bai summoned Black Star Bishop Sarulance through the connection under his Authority of Plague. Sarulance promptly appeared by his side.
“Master!”
The term “True God” felt too ostentatious. While Chen Bai might indeed be regarded as a True God in White Emperor City, the title didn’t quite match reality.
Thus, Chen Bai had instructed Sarulance to change how he addressed him.
“How has the Plague World been progressing lately?”
“Reporting to Master! The construction and development of the Plague World are underway. The Plague Temple has already been completed. Moreover, I have converted a significant number of Plague Creatures during this time, awaiting your inspection!”
“Alright, let’s go take a look first.”
The Abyssal portal appeared instantly.
In the next moment, Chen Bai and Sarulance’s figures materialized within the Abyssal Well of the 552nd Layer of the Abyss. The surrounding darkness faded away.
This eerie world once again unfolded before Chen Bai’s eyes.
The three bizarre suns hanging in the sky ensured perpetual daylight, leaving no room for night. Under such conditions, most planes would be unbearably hot. This one was no exception.
This climate had accelerated the growth of numerous unique plants, which in turn hastened the decomposition of countless life forms. As a result, a poisonous swamp had formed, giving rise to the peculiar environment it was now.
Even Chen Bai couldn’t yet disable the three suns.
Doing so would consume far too much of the Power of the Abyss, and it wasn’t worth the effort—nor was it necessary.
The area he had carved out using the Power of the Abyss remained unchanged. What had once been a swamp divided into a small open area had now expanded into something resembling a small village. In the center of this clearing, a magnificent hall had been constructed within just a few days.
The speed of construction was impressive.
Of course, in a transcendent world, there was no reason for it to be slow. On Blue Star before the apocalypse, building a single house or temple would have been a labor-intensive and time-consuming endeavor.
However, for a world with extraordinary powers, such projects were trivial.
In establishing the Plague World, Sarulance had been granted access to the Plague Sect’s treasury, using its stored plague-related treasures and crafting materials. This efficiency was hardly surprising under such circumstances.
Still, the grand temple was mostly symbolic, and Chen Bai paid it little mind.
What mattered to him was exploring the Plague World.
The results so far had been satisfactory.
Beyond the sectioned swamp, which had expanded slightly beyond its original plaza size, the most remarkable sight was Leech Bishop Festus, crouching by the poisonous swamp. His hand was submerged in the purple mist-spewing muck.
The leeches on his arm appeared to be absorbing something, their bodies turning a dark purple-red hue. Some even burst into pustules of blood right before Chen Bai’s eyes.
Around the Plague Cathedral, numerous dark green rats and peculiar mosquitoes and flies hovered. These Plague Creatures were the fruits of Sarulance’s recent labor.
Still, these were merely drops in the ocean. The ultimate goal was to establish a sustainable ecosystem in the Plague World, where plague creatures could reproduce and thrive naturally.
Of course, such a goal required time. Creating a functional world wasn’t something achievable in mere years or decades. Fortunately, Chen Bai had plenty of time.
Not that there weren’t ways to accelerate the process.
Noticing Chen Bai’s arrival, Festus quickly stood up, his leeches still wriggling.
Chen Bai remained impassive. This was simply the nature of Plague Creatures. While he himself wouldn’t become like them, he saw no reason to restrain his subordinates.
Festus had shown commendable foresight during this time. Instead of blindly expanding, he had focused on studying the toxicity of the swamp’s poisonous gases and producing an antidote for the Plague Sect to immunize against it.
After hearing Festus’ report, Chen Bai nodded. Festus had performed admirably, but now it was time for the next step.
“Show me the Plague World you’ve been safeguarding. Let’s see if the Abyss can fuse this fragmented world with the 552nd Layer.”
Secret Realm Dungeons like the Biochemical Zombie World had successfully fused before. Chen Bai held some confidence in the possibility.
It all depended on whether the Will of the Abyss could make it happen.
