Virus King - Chapter 373
Chapter 373: Brother and Sister Reunite! Tension Erupts!
TL: YYang
Magic City.
As one of the largest cities in Dragon Nation before the apocalypse, its prosperity was unquestionable.
However, in the wake of the apocalypse, its former glory had become a fleeting memory, leaving behind nothing but ruins.
Of course, Magic City still had its fair share of powerful Evolvers, which was beyond doubt.
For instance, both Han Xiao and Ding Ding from Group Chat No. 001 were here.
Han Xiao had completely unleashed himself.
After fusing with Hell Devil Bloodline and transferring his profession to Hell Envoy, the once unremarkable chubby guy was no longer recognizable.
While the Devil Bloodline didn’t enhance physical attractiveness as dramatically as the Angel Bloodline or Elven Bloodline, his formerly bloated and obese body had disappeared. Han Xiao now possessed a striking handsomeness. Coupled with his formidable strength—thanks to his Hell Bloodline, the Hell Envoy profession, his rapid rise in power at Mount Shu, and the dungeons he cleared during group missions—his strength had reached the upper echelons.
In the apocalypse, strength was everything.
Currently, Han Xiao stood atop a skyscraper he could never have imagined entering before the apocalypse, looking down upon the masses. On the streets below, zombies occasionally sprinted by, and Evolvers occasionally appeared.
However, to Han Xiao, most of them posed no threat whatsoever.
Unfortunately, today, Han Xiao wasn’t in the mood to enjoy any of this.
Even the beautiful women who had come to seek his favor—one of whom had been his high school crush—failed to arouse his interest.
It was because, in this skyscraper that he now considered his personal stronghold, standing across from him was a figure.
This girl, compared to any other he had seen, was far more stunning.
Her unique outfit, so distinct from the styles of Blue Star, paired with her icy demeanor, left no doubt about her special identity.
But regrettably, this extraordinary girl was his biological sister.
Even though, before the apocalypse, things like…bone-deep connections weren’t entirely out of the question, this particular “sister” wasn’t exactly a real “sister.”
“Who would’ve thought, my foolish brother, that your strength has surpassed my expectations! The God and Devil Trial Grounds truly hold unimaginable opportunities.”
Sitting on the sofa, the girl was dressed in a fitted leather outfit sewn from the blood-red pelts of some fearsome beast, which accentuated her figure. One long, strikingly beautiful leg rested on the coffee table Han Xiao particularly liked.
“You know me?” Han Xiao asked, slightly surprised.
“Of course. Zepar mentioned your existence, as did His Excellency. My purpose here is to seek that great figure whom the Blood Moon Goddess, Lady Lilith, who reigns supreme in Hell, wishes to speak with!”
The girl’s voice was exceptionally indifferent, but when she mentioned the so-called “great figure” and “Lilith,” there was a great deal of reverence.
However, when it came to her brother, he was nothing more than her “foolish brother.”
Such an attitude made Han Xiao, who had grown accustomed to being high and mighty recently, twitch his eyelid.
“Han Li, is this how you talk to your older brother? In Hell, are you all wild beasts who don’t understand the concept of respect?” Han Xiao’s voice sharpened.
“In Hell, the strong rule over the weak. The strong dominate life and death as they please. My foolish brother, let me be blunt—you may have some strength, but in Hell, you don’t even qualify to be my knight attendant.” She added, “And stop calling me by that ridiculous name. My name is Rika.”
A faint blood-red light flickered in Han Xiao’s eyes. Above his head, the Devil Horns from his Devil Bloodline glimmered with dark light, releasing waves of spiritual ripples.
Yet Rika didn’t seem to care in the slightest. Crossing her arms, her utterly flat chest remained perfectly still as she taunted him.
“What? Want to fight? Fine by me. Even though the Cosmic Will suppressed my strength by five levels when I used the Hell Portal to enter the God and Devil Trial Grounds, you’re still no match for me, my foolish brother.”
Han Xiao finally snapped. A terrifying Mental Shock swept through the massive office like a storm.
The reinforced glass windows quickly cracked, spiderwebbing under the intense pressure.
But such force posed no threat to Rika.
The girl stretched out her hand, and a massive blood-red energy materialized in front of her. In an instant, it condensed into a gigantic hand.
“Hand of Blood! My foolish brother, consider yourself lucky to witness the skill granted to me by Lady Lilith!”
The gigantic blood-red hand grabbed Han Xiao. His spiritually condensed attacks rippled harmlessly in the air and vanished without any effect.
Weapons imbued with Telekinesis clattered to the ground.
Han Xiao was hoisted into the air by the crimson hand.
Rika, already taller than Han Xiao by a head, now towered over him as he dangled in her grip.
Yet there wasn’t a hint of fear on his face. Instead, his eyes flashed with determination.
The next moment, purple-black flames erupted around him.
Even the blood-red hand began to ignite in these flames.
“Hellfire? It seems your Devil Bloodline isn’t as pathetic as I thought.”
Rika wasn’t fazed by the flames engulfing her hand. With a casual flick, she sent Han Xiao flying. Glass shattered as he broke through the window.
Unbeknownst to Rika, Han Xiao’s feet landed on an Immortal Sword, which seemed completely out of place amidst the apocalyptic scenery. Standing atop the flying sword, he hovered mid-air, gazing down at her.
Above him, two more Sword Shadows emerged, hovering at his side.
With a loud whoosh, the sword streaked through the sky, hurtling toward Rika like a meteor.
Watching her cocky brother, Rika froze momentarily before her expression turned cold.
In the sky, Han Xiao smirked.
“My foolish little sister, let me show you the fruits of my training. Your brother isn’t some pushover anymore, dammit!”
But before making his next move, Han Xiao muttered to himself.
“Better let Lord Bai know first. Right now, they should still be at Mount Shu, right?”
