Virus King - Chapter 360
Chapter 360: Auction Ends! The Flesh Robe!
TL: YYang
The smooth progression of the first auction transaction indeed served, as Chen Bai had mentioned, as a perfect way to set the stage and draw interest.
Subsequent auction transactions continued, involving not only Chen Bai but also many others.
They were among the most outstanding Evolvers in the entire Dragon Nation, so the rare items they could obtain were naturally beyond doubt. However, many of these items were either useless to them or couldn’t fetch much gold even in the auction house despite being quite precious.
The rest of the members in Group Chat No. 001 were able to exchange these items—already quite rare in the early stages of the apocalypse—for prices that left both parties rather satisfied.
That alone was already more than enough.
For Chen Bai, treasures like the Secret Realm Development Order from before were, of course, extraordinarily rare.
However, the gold he earned from the items he sold greatly alleviated some of his concerns about the expenditure caused by Golden Hand.
Even though the God-King existed, and Chen Bai couldn’t confidently claim to be the wealthiest Evolver in the entire God and Devil Trial Grounds, having amassed over hundreds of thousands of gold coins for the first time gave him an unprecedented sense of true wealth and extravagance.
The daily 5,000 gold consumption of Golden Hand seemed manageable now under the cushion of these hundreds of thousands of gold coins. These funds would transform into the strongest foundation to enhance his power.
However, apart from the initial Fallen Angel Bloodline, Chen Bai didn’t auction off any other bloodline power he had reserved in his backpack, whether from Fallen Angels, Devils, or Demons.
As he had mentioned earlier, the initial Devil Bloodline was merely meant to set the stage.
The value of these bloodlines would only grow more precious as the apocalypse progressed. Although he exchanged the first one for 80,000 gold coins—plus the Secret Realm Development Order, which seemed decent—these bloodlines could easily fetch over 100,000 gold coins.
Certainly, the Secret Realm Development Order was just as valuable. However, the Secret Realm Development Order from Crow was only level 30. If it were level 70 or level 80, it would undoubtedly be countless times more valuable than an S-Rank Fallen Angel Bloodline, but alas, it wasn’t.
Moreover, bloodline items were consumables that couldn’t be used repeatedly.
After this sale, if all the group members fused with bloodlines, Chen Bai wouldn’t be able to use this trump card to stir excitement among the group in the future.
Thus, such a potent weapon couldn’t be casually used.
That said, there were quite a few interesting items from the group members that caught Chen Bai’s attention.
In fact, this auction’s lively atmosphere encouraged many hesitant individuals to fully participate.
Even some members who rarely appeared decided to join the auction. Some even brought out the rarest items they had hidden at the bottom of their collections. Chen Bai even saw several blueprints for high-tier equipment.
However, most were blueprints for equipment below S-Rank or A-Rank. While there might have been items with upgrade potential, like the Zombie Claws from before, Chen Bai didn’t find them particularly interesting.
Still, he managed to find a few useful things for himself.
In truth, Chen Bai’s situation was quite different from other Evolvers.
For most Evolvers, filling every available equipment slot with items to maximize their combat potential was essential.
Being armed to the teeth was always the optimal approach.
However, Chen Bai’s actual equipment consisted only of the Wings of Netherflame on his back and the Shepherd’s Horn on his head.
While he still used the Nano Armor, it was more of a placeholder than a serious piece of equipment. Chen Bai had never actively sought to fill his other equipment slots.
After his Plague Set broke, things had remained this way.
This auction, however, allowed Chen Bai to slightly make up for that lack.
[Dark Priest’s Evangelist Robe (A-Rank)]
[Special Armor—Full-body Robe Type]
[All Attributes +75, Spirit +50.]
[Flesh Robe: All attacks may damage the robe, but it will self-repair over time to its original state at no cost.]
[Dark Whip: Expends Spirit to summon dark tentacles for both attack and defense.]
[Mad Whispers: Sacrifices a certain amount of Spirit and sanity to either greatly enhance the wearer’s state or lower the sanity and Spirit of the enemy.]
[Equipment Requirement: Level ≥ 20.]
[P.S.: This robe once belonged to a preacher of light. However, darkness consumed both the believer of light and the robe itself.]
Chen Bai was undeniably pleased with this piece of equipment.
While the attributes and skills it offered weren’t particularly impressive to him, the robe’s appearance was undeniably striking.
The black robe was adorned with a white cross, which was entwined by dark tendrils. Blood seemed to ooze from within the cross itself.
The robe appeared to be a living entity.
Previously, his Nano Armor couldn’t handle the strain of using the Wings of Netherflame. When the wings spread, the consuming Hellfire would immediately destroy and burn the armor to ashes.
This Flesh Robe, while also taking damage, could regenerate itself. Such a property was extremely rare for equipment of this tier.
As such, this piece was worth mentioning separately.
Amidst this atmosphere of harmony and satisfaction, the auction event for Group Chat No. 001 successfully came to a close.
Though there were moments of competition—such as the heated bidding war over Chen Bai’s Windchaser Mount Token—everything remained friendly overall.
By the end, it seemed no one bore any significant grievances or resentment. After all, wealth often triumphed, and there was little one could do when outmatched financially.
