Virus King - Chapter 34
Chapter 34: Myriad Wood Ghost Mother! Time for a thrill!
TL: YYang
In the previous lifetime, the core area of Fengtian City had been an absolute forbidden zone.
At the very center of Fengtian City, there lay a mutant that even an Emperor dared not provoke lightly.
It was known as the Myriad Wood Ghost Mother.
It had taken root, sprawling across the entirety of the ruined Fengtian City, with countless ghostly spirits and lost souls inhabiting its body.
Utterly terrifying!
Even the Dark Mother Goddess, after a brief visit in one of her incarnations, had commented on it, saying that the Myriad Wood Ghost Mother had a ten percent chance of achieving godhood!
Godhood!
Even among the human Emperors of later generations, there were scarcely any who could claim a ten percent chance at godhood!
Yet this mutant—no longer truly human, but a monster—had been spoken of in such a way by the Dark Mother Goddess.
From this, one could imagine…
However, Chen Bai had also seen the Myriad Wood Ghost Mother in a video.
Even at the very center of that vast ghost tree, with a diameter spanning thousands of meters, no trace of a human figure could be found!
Its twisted branches wound around all of Fengtian City, presenting a scene like the netherworld itself.
Chen Bai truly couldn’t fathom how a human could mutate into that form.
One would think it must have been pure coincidence… right?
Chen Bai stopped pondering further, but he had already decided in his heart that he should pay closer attention to Liu Huai.
Although he didn’t know what this girl looked like, her personality was quite charming.
Chen Bai made a mental note of Liu Huai’s name, marking her in the group chat, which currently had only four members.
If any issues arose, he would be able to see it in the chat immediately.
The darkness receded, and daylight arrived.
Song Ge woke up from hunger.
Gazing at the small crimson stain on the bed, Song Ge felt a complicated surge of emotions. She thought back to her resentment towards her mother the night before, and in a fit of heated impulse, she had made such a decision. She couldn’t even tell if it was right or wrong!
However, seeing the empty bed next to her, along with the places on her own body that had once been pale now replaced with bruises, and that lingering ache and soreness that she couldn’t quite put into words—all of it made Song Ge feel a wave of intense grievance.
Just then, the door opened, and that damn man’s face appeared before her eyes.
Ignoring her resentment entirely, he spoke bluntly:
“You’re up. Why are you still dawdling here? Breakfast is ready. Are you going to eat or not?”
“I’m not eating! I’m not hungry!”
Song Ge flopped back onto the bed, pulling the covers over her head. The two small, pale feet sticking out kicked up and down, venting her frustration.
Clearly, Chen Bai had already been considerate enough by coming upstairs to call her down for breakfast.
For the recently transformed campus belle, Song Ge, the dog man had not a shred of courtesy. He walked right up, gave her two quick smacks, and she immediately quieted down.
Then, under her shocked gaze, he hoisted her up. Wrapped in her blanket like a burrito, he slung her over his shoulder and headed out the door, down the stairs!
“Chen Bai, you bastard! Put me down!”
Struggling on his shoulder, the burrito-wrapped Song Ge punched and kicked, but to Chen Bai, it wasn’t even enough to scratch an itch, let alone serve as a massage.
After realizing that Chen Bai had absolutely no intention of letting her go, Song Ge promptly buried her head back into the blanket.
Watching Song Ge being carried down, Song Ziqiong, who was already seated at the dining table, showed not a hint of surprise.
Her daughter’s cries from the night before, loud enough to shake the heavens, had kept Song Ziqiong wide awake through the entire ordeal.
This was something Song Ziqiong had somewhat expected.
His own daughter already had feelings for this man, and with Chen Bai’s personality, it was only a matter of time.
However, upon seeing the bare-skinned Song Ge wrapped in the blanket, Song Ziqiong couldn’t help but feel a bit of pity.
In contrast, when Song Ge saw her mother, her shyness instantly vanished. She let out a cold huff and didn’t bother putting on a pleasant expression for her mother.
She even tugged the thin blanket covering her down a little, revealing a few bruises.
But soon enough, Song Ge stopped caring about all that.
She had never eaten a breakfast like this before.
It was delicious!
How had she never realized that Auntie Sun’s cooking was this good?!
Was she just that hungry?! Song Ge wondered suspiciously.
Then she saw that damn man’s face: “Tastes good?”
Song Ge gave a soft snort and nodded. “Of course it’s good! Auntie Sun has a Level One Chef’s Certificate, after all. Unlike you, who probably hasn’t had anything good to eat your whole life. You should eat a few more bites!”
Chen Bai smiled slightly without saying a word, while Song Ziqiong, sitting nearby, had a faint smile at the corners of her mouth.
But Auntie Sun, standing to the side, seemed a bit embarrassed and said, “Miss, this morning’s breakfast was made by Mr. Chen!”
Song Ge froze, and her face instantly turned bright red. Only then did Chen Bai speak:
“If you like it, eat more. Get your strength back. Later, you’ll come with me. If you do well, I’ll give you something even better for lunch that you’ve never had before.”
He emphasized the last sentence, making the campus belle’s face turn even redder. She wanted to stubbornly refuse him right then and there, but the loud grumble of her stomach and her instinctive swallowing motion made any thoughts of resistance vanish completely.
The young miss Song let out a soft snort: “As you should!”
Chen Bai couldn’t be bothered with the campus belle’s stubborn front and her spoiled behavior.
He glanced over at Song Ziqiong.
“Get ready mentally for today. Of course, I’ll disable its limbs, so it won’t be able to resist, but there’s still some danger. You’ve seen that creature yourselves! Also, has Chu Xin arrived?”
Song Ziqiong had already prepared herself mentally and nodded. “Shuang’er will bring that little nurse over shortly.”
Song Ge blinked in confusion: “What do you mean? What won’t resist? What are we supposed to be ready for?!”
Chen Bai looked at the campus belle who, in these past few years before the apocalypse broke out, he couldn’t avoid even if he tried. He smiled and said, “I’m taking you to do something thrilling!”
Thrilling!?
Song Ge looked at Chen Bai’s smile, and her face flushed red again. Instinctively, she thought, what could possibly be more thrilling than last night?
Soon enough, Song Ge would understand.
Just what he meant by “thrilling”!
Thrilling enough to make her want to cry…
…
Requesting flowers and monthly votes…
