Virus King - Chapter 316
Chapter 316: Expired Seafood? The True Identity of Gimon!
TL: YYang
In this hellish domain, one was either at the pinnacle of the Monarch level or at the demigod rank of a Hell Duke. Calling it ordinary seemed quite inappropriate.
However, for Chen Bai, even if someone like Lilith herself came personally, it would still be utterly impossible to make him submit to such an extent!
The Authority of the Abyss, the recognition of the Time Hourglass, the loyalty of the Cult of the Plague—though his level and stage were not particularly high, his foundation and background were far from something anyone could meddle with.
For a moment, Chen Bai wasn’t even angry about the insult. Instead, he was entirely dumbfounded.
Although entering hell meant facing more powerful adversaries compared to the God and Devil Trial Grounds he had just begun, his strength here might not amount to much.
Yet, Chen Bai never expected to encounter such a situation one day.
To be fair, under normal circumstances, if he were to have some pleasant interaction with the 29th Demon God of this hell, Chen Bai wouldn’t outright reject it.
But he was never someone who enjoyed being forced.
Moreover, in such matters, even the Succubus Queen of True God rank, the Lord of Pleasure, or Mekanshut, the ruler of the 437th Layer of the Abyss, had always approached him in a subservient manner.
And now, this female devil before him? What exactly did she think she was?
Astaroth observed Chen Bai’s fascinatingly fluctuating expressions and let out a cold snort:
“A little creature with human blood, are you so overwhelmed with joy and excitement? Calm yourself, and now kneel to offer your loyalty and your tongue.”
This Duke of Hell seemed accustomed to maintaining such a lofty demeanor.
However, in the next instant, something completely unexpected occurred for Astaroth. The human before her shook his head and replied:
“I’m not interested in eating expired seafood!”
That simple sentence left Astaroth completely stunned. Her scarlet eyes blinked in bewilderment, clearly unable to process the fact that this human could utter such words.
For a moment, she even thought she had misheard him. She stared incredulously at the small figure before her.
Had she heard wrong? Or had she forgotten to introduce herself to him just now?
Or perhaps someone had cast some special spell of mental confusion or soul manipulation on this human, leaving him unaware of what he was doing?
Astaroth simply couldn’t understand!
The little creature before her—his strength was merely at the level of 20 or 30 at best, wasn’t it?
How could a creature of such a low level refuse her? Astaroth was stunned.
Faced with such an opportunity, shouldn’t this little creature be ecstatic, trembling with excitement, and kneeling eagerly in submission?
“Expired seafood?!”
Astaroth had never heard anyone, or any creature, describe her in such a manner!
In an instant, her originally wine-red pupils seemed to ignite with flames. She glared fiercely, locking her burning gaze onto the reckless human before her.
“Human, I think I misheard. Would you care to repeat yourself?” she said coldly.
Chen Bai’s lips twitched. Resigned to his fate, he decided to let the situation spiral as it may.
In truth, the cooldown for entering Hell was indeed somewhat long. After all, it had only been just over two months since the God and Devil Trial Grounds had begun.
In those two months, he had advanced his strength to this level, making the passage of time seem drawn out.
However, just as Satan had once told him, time was the most uncontrollable yet also the most overlooked force in all the heavens and worlds.
And time always stood with the great Overlord.
For Chen Bai, even if he had delayed entering Hell by a month, it wouldn’t have made much difference. If Astaroth killed him, it wouldn’t be the end. The Authority of the Abyss granted him unlimited resurrection at will.
This was the strongest ability of the Abyssal Overlord.
“I said…” Chen Bai began to respond, but before he could finish, a terrifying ripple of power suddenly emerged.
Astaroth’s expression, filled with disbelief and simmering anger, froze and instantly shifted. At the same time, a crisp, almost sweet voice echoed through the void:
“To the Crimson Peak, immediately…”
Every trace of emotion in Astaroth’s scarlet eyes—be it anger or hidden flames of desire—vanished entirely. She turned toward the center of Blood Moon City and performed a peculiar yet respectful ritual. With utmost reverence, she said:
“Yes, Revered Lord of Blood, Crimson Queen, Eternal Blood Moon Witch, and Mother of the Blood Clan!”
After speaking, Astaroth no longer paid any attention to Chen Bai. Her figure dissolved into a ripple of blood-red energy, completing a spatial teleportation and disappearing from sight.
“Click…” Chen Bai clicked his tongue.
He felt neither relief at escaping death nor gratitude for surviving. In fact, he found it a pity—he had been quite curious to experience resurrection within the Abyss.
However, recalling the earlier voice of Lilith, Chen Bai raised his eyebrows.
The Blood God’s voice was rather pleasant to the ears.
Shaking his head, Chen Bai felt no urgency. Casually, he took out the Hell King’s Ring again.
“Just now, Astaroth came looking for me,” he remarked.
“What?! Great Overlord, could it be that you’ve already returned to the Abyss?” Satan’s voice responded, tinged with disbelief.
Chen Bai raised an eyebrow. Why did this Hell King seem to doubt him so much? Admittedly, Satan wasn’t wrong—he had been mere moments away from fully returning to the Abyss, where he could see Mekanshut again.
“And what is this Gimon’s Treasure Hut?” Chen Bai asked.
“Gimon…” Satan paused, seemingly caught off guard.
That shouldn’t be possible!
From Satan’s perspective, only half a day had passed since he had been separated from the Great Overlord. Could so much have happened in just half a day?
Satan slowly emerged from the ring, his handsome face wearing a faint smile as he explained:
“Great Overlord, Gimon’s Treasure Hut belongs to Gimon. She is the 56th Demon God of Hell and a Hell Duke as well. Her abilities are quite unique, including divining past and future events and holding partial authority over fate.
“That young lady is somewhat similar to the dragon race. She loves to collect treasures and has a sense for them rivaling dragons and treasure-hunting rats. Her hoard is so vast that even the gods are curious.
“And most importantly, she is Balam’s younger sister…”
“…” Chen Bai was momentarily speechless.
