Virus King - Chapter 314
Chapter 314: Hell 29: Astaroth! The Inn’s Service!
TL: YYang
“Her Excellency Lilith sensed the presence of your treasure hut. Previously, Her Excellency Lilith wanted to invite you and His Excellency Balam to attend the First Embrace Ceremony as witnesses!”
Astaroth’s words failed to stir the slightest interest in the treasure hut’s owner. The female demon named Gimon shook her head and replied:
“Hell naturally welcomes the addition of the Blood Clan and Her Excellency Lilith. However, this is primarily to deal with the opposing gods across the myriad worlds, not for Her Excellency Lilith to recklessly expand her followers and subjects!”
Pausing for a moment, Gimon continued:
“Also, from beginning to end, Hell exists only because of that being. In the past, all the demon gods of Hell rallied under that being’s banner. No matter the time, it should remain so. Even though that being has fallen, the roots of the devils still reside in Hell. Duke Astaroth, you must always remember your identity. You are a devil, not a member of the Blood Clan.”
Hearing this, a cold glint flashed in Astaroth’s eyes. However, when she recalled the news she had heard earlier, a shadow of gloom and dread crossed her gaze. Soon, she exhaled deeply.
The trace of displeasure was quickly suppressed. She understood the terrifying nature of the woman before her.
She also knew even more clearly the terror of the being behind this woman.
Her relationship with Lilith was far inferior to Gimon’s relationship with Balam.
Thus, in terms of personal strength and backing, she truly couldn’t compare to the woman before her.
Even so, Astaroth couldn’t help but feel confused about why this peculiar figure, as eccentric and independent as Balam, would suddenly appear in Blood Moon City.
“Lady Gimon, why have you come to Blood Moon City?” Astaroth asked.
“Oh, nothing much. I simply gleaned some insights during my divination and felt that something interesting might happen here in Blood Moon City,” Gimon replied casually.
Her words didn’t surprise Astaroth. She was already accustomed to the cryptic manner of speaking that diviners like her often adopted.
Even across the myriad worlds, few could rival this female demon in the field of divination.
If possible, Astaroth genuinely wished to form a closer relationship with this fellow devil out of camaraderie. So, she quickly said:
“Lady Gimon, since it’s rare for you to visit, could you help me divine someone?”
“Who?” Gimon’s gaze remained calm.
This Astaroth, who exuded the enchanting allure befitting a female demon, gave a faint smile and said:
“There are many devils, demons, and fallen angels attending this First Embrace Ceremony. But I just received news that among them, there’s even a half-human hybrid!
Lady Gimon, since you don’t visit Blood Moon City often, you might not know why Her Excellency Lilith trusts Zepar so much. It’s because Zepar’s foster child, Rika, is greatly favored by Her Excellency Lilith. That foster child happens to have human blood!
Now, Hell has finally produced another individual with human lineage. I’ve heard that this one is of exceptional quality. I’d like to meet them, but as you can see, Blood Moon City is so vast that finding them is too difficult.
Could I trouble you, Lady Gimon, to divine their whereabouts? I’d like to know where this little half-human is and what they look like.”
Gimon’s pupils shrank slightly, but she quickly let out a soft laugh:
“Duke Astaroth, my power is not a toy for you to use to find someone. Besides, is there anyone in Blood Moon City you don’t already know? That’s enough. My elder brother has some matters waiting for me, so I won’t stay and chat with you further!”
With that, Gimon and her small shop transformed into an illusory shadow on the long street, ultimately vanishing without a trace.
Only the lingering echoes of camel bells remained in her ears.
Astaroth no longer concealed her fury.
Terrifying hellfire erupted instantly, igniting the entire street in a fiery blaze.
Countless devils, creatures on the street, and even the shops were engulfed in flames in an instant.
The agonized screams of those affected filled the air, though none dared to cry out too loudly, fearing that the furious Duke of Hell standing before them might unleash her wrath upon them.
Blood Moon City indeed had its rules, but those rules depended entirely on who was involved.
For the subordinates of Her Excellency Lilith, especially someone as notoriously temperamental and fierce as Duke Astaroth, the rules were more of a suggestion. Executing a few devils or unfortunate fools who didn’t know their place was as simple as uttering a few words—if a reason was even needed.
Still, Gimon wasn’t wrong.
Astaroth’s earlier request for Gimon’s assistance in finding someone had been nothing more than an attempt to improve relations with the eccentric woman.
In Blood Moon City, there were very few people or matters that Duke Astaroth couldn’t uncover on her own.
Before long, Astaroth extended her hand. Amid the raging hellfire, a virtual image and a line of text appeared in her palm.
She gazed at the image of a man—handsome, and distinctly unlike anyone from Hell.
Astaroth extended her crimson, snake-like tongue and licked her equally scarlet lips.
“A little one with human blood, hmm? I’ve never tasted that flavor before. Hehehe…”
Even in Hell, there was a distinction between night and day.
Within Blood Moon City and the areas under the Blood Moon’s dominion, the night stretched on even longer than the day.
Under the pitch-black sky, the blood-red moon shone down, making night scarcely different from day.
In fact, during the nighttime hours of Blood Moon City, even more demons and devils emerged, making the city livelier than during the day.
However, Chen Bai had no interest in the bustling activity.
Sitting in the room he had rented at the Mad Demon Inn, Chen Bai was lost in thought, reflecting on his first day in Hell, summarizing the people he had met, the events he had encountered, and the strange transactions he had made.
If not for the still-glowing Phoenix Feathers in front of him, Chen Bai might have doubted his own eyes.
But it was at that moment that the door to his room was gently pushed open.
Chen Bai frowned, and in the next moment, a sultry voice rang out:
“Dear guest, do you need any services from the inn? We offer the finest services here! We have reasonably priced devils, rare succubi, even more elusive elves, and—if you’re willing to pay—female fallen angels too~.”
