Virus King - Chapter 311
Chapter 311: Chaos in Hell! Division of Factions?
TL: YYang
“How could this be? Could it be that Zepar really didn’t speak the truth?”
Satan’s voice still echoed in Chen Bai’s mind, but Chen Bai’s expression remained unchanged as he donned the pitch-black robe.
Only a pair of scarlet eyes and the distinctive sharp horns symbolizing his identity as a devil stood exposed.
This Blood Moon City was indeed extraordinary.
It bore some resemblance to many layered mountain cities on Blue Star.
From the outside, it seemed accessible, but within the Blood Moon, there were numerous fractures and discontinuities.
Even so, the city still maintained its overall structure, albeit abstract and intriguing in its design.
However, Chen Bai’s attention was not on these details. He merely glanced around before quickly advancing deeper into the city.
It was evident that the value and significance of this Blood Moon City were enormous. The city’s vast scale surpassed even the largest cities on Blue Star by dozens of times.
From any vantage point, it was impossible to see the boundaries.
Everywhere, the vibrant scarlet hues made the place seem as though it had been literally built from blood.
As Chen Bai observed the city, he attempted to locate the so-called “Path of Life and Death in Hell” with his naked eye. Yet, Satan’s puzzled murmurs continued to echo in his ears:
“What exactly is happening in Hell? Why has it come to this?”
“What do you mean?” Chen Bai asked, a trace of impatience in his voice.
“In Hell, devils were once the undisputed rulers! Though Lucifer commanded the Fallen Angels, his army of Fallen Angels was still subordinate to the devils’ main forces. And yet, just now, that demon mentioned that, apart from the Fallen Angels, there are also these Blood Clan? A species originally created by Cain, now revered so highly by that demon?!”
Satan paused briefly before continuing: “Moreover, it seems that Hell’s factions are now even more clearly delineated!”
Factions…
Chen Bai’s brows furrowed slightly. Suddenly, he turned his head toward a peculiar notice written in Hell’s script, inscribed with abyssal markings, displayed beneath the city gate.
The notice was clear and direct.
Urgent Call for the Frontlines!
Hell’s Astaroth Legion is recruiting! Any devil, demon, or Fallen Angel above level 30 is eligible to join the Astaroth Legion.
The Astaroth Legion comprises forty massive divisions under the command of Duke Astaroth.
Those who achieve merit within the Legion and surpass level 50 have the chance to become Centurions, or even advance to Barons—a noble rank in Hell.
Most importantly, should the merits involve conquering territories or defeating legions of other Hell Demon Gods not loyal to Lady Lilith’s protection, the noble titles granted may even come with the opportunity to be personally summoned by Lady Lilith herself!
“Astaroth?”
“She was the 29th of Hell’s Seventy-Two Demon Gods, renowned for her vast knowledge and peculiar abilities. A key figure among the Demon Gods of Hell and one of its essential strategists,” Satan explained once again.
Chen Bai nodded: “So, in other words, each deity in Hell belongs to a different faction, and these so-called Demon Gods have long since chosen their sides.”
In other words, Hell at this moment was no better than the disorganized, chaotic Abyss. If anything, it was even more chaotic.
The gods of Hell were waging war against one another!?
A glimmer of light flickered in Chen Bai’s eyes.
Beelzebub, Balam, Vassago, Lucifer, Lilith…
Among the five true gods he currently knew of, Vassago was imprisoned by Beelzebub.
Lucifer, as the leader of the Fallen Angels, maintained an unclear stance. Balam was enigmatic and unfathomable.
Lilith, however, seemed to be a deity who had arrived in Hell later from an external realm, representing a newly emerging power.
As for Blood Moon City, it was undoubtedly a gift from Beelzebub to Lilith.
But now, Chen Bai had pieced together many things.
For instance, the most critical matter—he had confirmed it now!
That was the identity of Hell’s 16th Demon God.
Han Xiao’s ancestor + brother-in-law, the one he had summoned on Blue Star by extracting a strand of its soul and original form, whose powers were suppressed by the Cosmic Will and was devoured by Chen Bai—the same Zepar.
A glint of icy sharpness flashed through Chen Bai’s eyes.
Coldly, he spoke indifferently to Satan once more:
“Devils truly are a cunning species, aren’t they?”
“…”
Satan dared not respond further. It was only at this moment that they both began to understand.
What Zepar had said was not necessarily entirely true. But then again, it wasn’t entirely false either. Chen Bai had reason to believe that many devils and Demon Gods had chosen to follow Beelzebub, submitting to him and erasing traces of Satan’s influence. That was highly plausible.
However, there were key pieces of information that Zepar had omitted.
The most critical of these omissions was undoubtedly the concealment of Lilith’s existence.
The reason for this omission was multifaceted. With Hell’s king descending once more, regardless of his strength, provoking a conflict with Beelzebub in the current circumstances would only benefit Lilith, who was already embroiled in her own struggles in Hell.
It might even allow her to seize a significant portion of Beelzebub’s authority.
Fortunately, Chen Bai had directly entered Hell at just the right time, descending near Blood Moon City.
But soon, Chen Bai realized something else.
Even if Zepar had left a fragment of his soul imprint on the Hell King’s Ring, it wasn’t particularly concerning.
In the short term, Chen Bai truly couldn’t do much to him anyway.
A faint smile crept across Chen Bai’s face:
“It seems your authority isn’t as effective as it used to be. After all these years, these Demon Gods are remarkably loyal to their new master, aren’t they?”
Satan’s voice rang out, filled with flattery:
“Great Overlord, any obstacle or person standing before you will either submit or be annihilated. That is inevitable! To have the opportunity to serve you once more is already a blessing granted by your authority. These despicable traitors will soon come to understand in what form the true King of Hell will descend upon this land!”
Hearing this blatant sycophancy, Chen Bai’s expression remained unmoved.
“Enough. Where’s the Path of Life and Death in Hell? Hurry up and get that Authority of Greed—it’s the only thing that matters right now!”
