Chapter 27: Skill Book—Berserk Bloodlust! Virus Serum Production Blueprint!
TL: YYang
Bloody Shorts,
Corpse T-shirt,
Bloodstained Nike Sneakers…
These assorted low-level items dazzled Chen Bai, overwhelming him with their chaotic appearance.
But when all the various added attributes were tallied up, it provided an additional ten points or so—not much, but better than nothing.
The most important part was that these items allowed him to unleash his strength without tearing his clothes to shreds.
Thus, while this low-level gear from zombies looked dirty and as unpleasant as the zombie masks, it still had practical uses!
However, amidst all this, there were several items that caught Chen Bai’s eye.
It was just unfortunate that the blueprint for the Zombie Claws hadn’t reappeared.
But Chen Bai could understand.
In his previous life, someone had speculated that in the apocalyptic God and Devil Trial Grounds, precious blueprints had a kind of hidden value.
The idea was that after an item dropped once, the chances of the same blueprint dropping again would decrease significantly.
This made blueprints and the equipment or tools crafted from them tremendously valuable.
For many people, certain pieces of equipment crafted from these blueprints were almost unique.
Although Chen Bai didn’t know if the Zombie Claws were the rarest item among low-level zombies, there was no doubt about their extraordinary value.
Yet, the three items obtained this time were undoubtedly valuable as well!
[Berserk Bloodlust]
[General F-Rank Skill]
[Upon use, pain sensation -60%; all attributes +3; duration: ten minutes. After ten minutes, all attributes decrease by 50%, lasting a full day. Cooldown time: 1 day.]
[Learning Requirement: Total attribute points > 20 points]
A skill book!
Skills were incredibly valuable resources in the apocalypse and a key component of an Evolver’s power.
Although this Berserk Bloodlust was merely a relatively low-tier F-Rank skill, with severe side effects—reduced pain perception, minor boost to attributes—
it still had the potential to be life-saving at a critical moment!
Especially in the early days of the apocalypse, when attribute points played a significant role.
But for Chen Bai, it was essentially useless.
The boost was too minor, and the side effects were excessive.
Even if he were gambling with his life, Chen Bai wouldn’t use this thing.
However, it still held a good value. After the apocalypse began, he could trade it for some gold coins, which would be excellent.
Or, he could give it to a subordinate.
The next item, however, was even more interesting!
This was a blueprint, but not for equipment like the previous Zombie Claws blueprint.
Instead, it was a blueprint for a relatively lower-value item, one intended for a “support profession”!
[Zombie Virus Serum—Blueprint]
[Item Type—Potion]
[The virus serum can be injected after a zombie virus infection, significantly reducing the chance of an Evolver turning into a zombie!]
[Manufacturing Method: 500 ml of zombie blood! Unlimited use allowed!]
(PS: The tier of the zombie blood used will determine the tier of the zombie virus serum potion created!)
In the long run, the value of this virus serum blueprint far surpassed that of the Zombie Claws blueprint.
Even though equipment blueprints produced valuable items, in the end, they were still only E-Rank equipment.
However, a blueprint like this, for potion crafting, could retain its value for decades!
This was a true treasure!
It was something that could inspire loyalty and establish a powerful force in the apocalypse!
Even if Evolvers avoided becoming zombies initially, they were still vulnerable to the zombie toxin and weren’t invincible.
Only those with special virus-immunity talents, like Chen Bai, were truly safe.
When fighting zombies, even Evolvers risked contracting the zombie virus if injured. Without an immediate cure or with insufficient physical resilience, they would eventually turn into zombies.
With the zombie virus serum, however, Evolvers would be fearless when fighting zombies!
If the God and Devil Trial Grounds apocalypse event featured only zombies, then this serum alone would mean the apocalypse wasn’t really an apocalypse at all.
Unfortunately, it was only effective against the zombie virus.
Chen Bai put the blueprint away and turned his gaze to the final item.
The last item was something Chen Bai knew very well.
[Corpse-Heart Pill×10]
[Special Item]
[After consumption, increases one’s Constitution +1 and Strength +1! However, the user will be infected with a special virus, requiring regular doses of the Heart-Saving Pill as an antidote!]
This was a small bottle, and on the bottom was a formula for creating the Heart-Saving Pill.
It was somewhat like the Tiger Bone Pill or Bone-Reforming Pill described in martial novels—a special method of controlling others.
However, it was relatively basic.
Anyone with a little skill could remove its effects. Thus, this item held little use for Chen Bai.
Feeling a chill on his back, Chen Bai opened his eyes and said:
“Alright, let’s head back.”
The Corpse-Heart Pill could be useful for Song Ziqiong to cultivate loyal Evolvers in the future, at least in the early stages.
While the virus serum blueprint was incredibly valuable, mass-producing the serum would require time and resources to collect enough blood.
Chen Bai wasn’t about to waste time on such endeavors.
In the apocalypse, these items were secondary, auxiliary at best.
The only truly important thing was his own strength.
So he would hand both items to Song Ziqiong for fortifying the rear.
Wrapping himself in the jacket and coat Song Ziqiong had prepared, Chen Bai reined in his previously surging killing intent and walked out of Qionghai Tower.
Waiting by the prepared vehicle, Shuang’er stood holding a burlap sack, already prepared.
The sack was filled with zombie claws, still stained with black blood, piled high.
Chen Bai’s spirits rose at the sight.
In his previous life, he had also used equipment crafted from blueprints, so he knew firsthand just how powerful such items could be.
Now, having gained access to precious blueprint-crafted equipment early in the apocalypse, he could scarcely contain his excitement.
Zombie Claws—he would finally see if they lived up to the reputation of blueprint-made gear!
