Chapter 399: The Doomsday Horn, the Unstoppable Arrival of the Four Horsemen!
TL: Sungmin
“Mythic-Class Magic—Endless Thunderstorm!!!” Zeus roared in the sky.
The surging thunder formed an ocean—one that completely engulfed the sky above the City of Wicked Sages!
The terrifying pressure alone nearly shattered the nerves of the vast army surrounding the bunker.
They had been dodging cannon fire just moments ago.
Now, they had to figure out how to avoid the raging thunderballs in the sky!
Getting hit by a cannon shell at least offered a chance of survival.
Getting struck by that lightning, however, meant instant obliteration!
The next second—
Zeus plunged straight toward the bunker, carrying the entirety of the storm’s fury!
It didn’t matter how many shells were fired at him—they were useless.
They never even reached him before being vaporized on the spot by the high-voltage lightning.
Lin Tian dared not be careless and immediately ordered everyone to step away from the control console.
He feared the lightning might conduct into the bunker and electrocute them all.
“Boom!”
The moment Zeus crashed onto the bunker, space distorted! The piercing humming sound was enough to turn people into a mist of blood!
Countless bolts of lightning lashed out wildly like whips.
Those magical beast hybrids who failed to escape—vanished instantly!
That’s right, they were evaporated in an instant!
Within a 500-meter radius, even the very soil was reduced to an inky-black powder!
Everyone who witnessed this scene was left speechless in shock!
“So this is the power of Zeus, the God-King?!”
“Thank goodness! Thank goodness I ran!”
“Weren’t there still millions of people who hadn’t escaped just now? Where are they?! There aren’t even any corpses left?!”
The sheer horror of the attack was suffocating.
Zeus stood atop the massive bunker, arcs of lightning still crackling around his body.
“How is this possible?!”
Zeus was slightly taken aback—his attack hadn’t shattered the bunker.
However, it had charred its topmost section pitch black.
The turrets had turned brittle like crackers, crumbling with a single touch.
Fortunately, the walls were made of hardened materials, heavily enchanted to resist elemental attacks.
This minimized the damage.
Even Odin and the other God-Kings were stunned.
“Even an attack like that can’t break through? We really should have annihilated the Dwarven Race at all costs back then!”
Inside the bunker—
Lin Tian hadn’t expected the defenses to be this strong. He quickly gave orders,
“What are you all standing around for? Kill this so-called God-King already! Prepare the Ice Element Shells!”
Zeus was terrifyingly fast.
So, the plan was to freeze him first—
Then fire Diamond Shrapnel Shells at him.
If luck was on their side, they might even one-shot him.
Immediately, the turrets that hadn’t been destroyed by lightning began firing!
Seeing this, Zeus sneered, “Loael, do you really think such attacks can hit me?”
“Zzzzt!”
His entire form turned into a streak of lightning.
He weaved through the battlefield, darting around the bunker at blinding speeds.
He dodged every shell with pinpoint precision—even the exploding shrapnel failed to touch him.
Lin Tian quickly raised his hand, “Cease fire! Shooting like this is just a waste of ammunition.”
Unfortunately, the bunker’s walls weakened magical effects.
Otherwise, using the Time Pendulum through the walls—
Would ensure Zeus died here forever.
“Hahaha! How about it, Loael, Xiya, Phoenix! Do you see now? I am invincible! You have absolutely no chance of winning!!” Zeus laughed wildly, floating arrogantly in the air, supported by lightning.
Then, he declared, “I’ll give you two choices.
First—become my slaves! I guarantee I’ll make sure you enjoy yourselves every single day. Keh keh keh!”
“Second—just wait for death! Though we’re at a stalemate now, do you really think this bunker is unbreakable? It’s only a matter of time!”
Upon hearing this—
Loael’s expression darkened. “Despicable, shameless scoundrel! Lady Xiya was the one who helped you overthrow the Titan Pantheon, giving you the chance to obtain a Divine Core, yet you repay her with betrayal!”
Back then, Zeus had killed his own father, Cronus, to seize his Divine Core.
He had then gone into hiding, steadily growing in power until he fully mastered the speed of lightning—at which point, he set his sights on becoming a God-King.
However, at the time, the Star Sea, Moon Palace, and Sun Hall were all at their peak strength.
So, Zeus colluded with abominations, rallying ominous creatures from all corners before launching a surprise attack.
“Hilarious. Only those who reach this position have the right to judge what is right or wrong! You’re nothing but remnants of the barbaric and incompetent Old Divine Pantheon, while I am the savior—the greatest God-King!” Zeus’s voice brimmed with arrogance.
His expression suddenly turned dark. “I’ll ask one last time—make your choice!”
Loael glanced at Lin Tian, uncertain of what to do.
But when he saw Lin Tian’s calm and unwavering gaze—she steeled himself.
“I will one day sever your head and hang it atop Mount Olympus!”
Upon hearing this—
Zeus didn’t seem angry at all.
“Haha, I hope you’re still this confident when the time comes! Well then, don’t blame me for getting serious now!”
“Summon all living beings in the present world to gather in the City of Wicked Sages! I will use their corpses to exhaust all of their ammunition!!”
“Buzz—!”
That command, just like its speaker, was as deafening as thunder!
The vast army of creatures trembled.
“What?! How can this be?! Using our families as cannon fodder?!”
“Is this still the great God-King?! This is a tyrant!”
“I risk my life here so that my family and children can continue to live in peace!”
Doubt and unrest began to spread through the ranks of the army.
A sense of rebellion stirred within them.
Sacrificing themselves was one thing, but forcing their loved ones to die?
They were not fools. There was no way they could accept this.
Athena, Poseidon, and the others clenched their fists in anger.
“Zzzzt!!”
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck down into the army.
Like swatting flies—an entire section was wiped out in an instant!
At least a million were killed on the spot, and these were all warriors with combat power exceeding ten thousand!
And just now, Zeus had done nothing more than a casual basic attack.
As he looked over the army of creatures, a cruel and terrifying murderous intent flickered in Zeus’s eyes.
“I am the greatest God-King! I rule over everything in this world! If you dare defy my orders, then I will not hesitate to unleash an Endless Apocalypse Thunderstorm to cleanse this world!”
The Endless Apocalypse Thunderstorm—one of Zeus’s powers.
He could summon a lightning catastrophe that would last for hundreds of years.
By then, no life would be able to survive.
Hearing this—
The magical beasts, demi-humans, humans, and others all panicked.
They had no choice but to submit.
Certain death versus possible death—the latter was the obvious choice.
Seeing this, Zeus smirked.
“How about now, Loael, Xiya, Phoenix? Can you feel despair?! Are you still going to resist?! Opposing me is opposing the entire present world! Once I crack open this turtle shell, I will make you understand what true despair is!”
Upon hearing this—
Even Athena lowered her head and sighed.
“It’s over…”
The gods all felt a deep sense of pity.
An opportunity like this—it was unlikely to ever come again.
With all the living beings in the present world attacking the bunker, breaking through was only a matter of time.
Inside the Bunker
Lin Tian reluctantly released the turret’s control button.
“I wasn’t done playing yet. And here I thought a Prime God wouldn’t give up so quickly.”
“Playing?! What now? What are we supposed to do?!”
Loael looked utterly hopeless.
This time, there really was no way out.
He couldn’t help but look toward Gobu Yue.
“Lady Xiya… wuuu… I’m sorry. We can never return to our peaceful lives…”
Gobu Yue looked slightly awkward and shuffled closer to Lin Tian.
Two women… happy together?
Something about Loael seemed off.
“Boss, do you have any ideas left?”
Gobu Yue asked.
Lin Tian glanced at everyone, then calmly replied,
“My friends, I’m actually not fond of killing and destruction. But since Zeus has pushed things this far, I have no choice but to respond in kind.”
“Huh?! No way—you still have a countermeasure?! Impossible!”
Loael’s expression was one of pure shock.
One-Eyed Owl, Alice, and the others were equally dumbfounded.
Right now, they were holed up inside the bunker, completely on the defensive.
They should have had no means of striking back.
A dark and sinister light flickered in Lin Tian’s eyes.
“There was one ability I never wanted to use… but now I have no choice. The power I gained after devouring Battle Angel Gabriel—
The Doomsday Horn!”
[Doomsday Horn—Mythic-Class: Summon the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse from ancient times. They will bring forth the end of days, indiscriminately slaughtering all, cleansing this filthy world…]
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse possessed conceptual-level abilities.
They could not be stopped.
They could not be countered.
The four were: the War Horseman, the Plague Horseman, the Famine Horseman, and the Death Horseman.
Once they appeared, these four calamities would descend upon the world.
Their abilities were absolute—unsolvable.
The entire world would be plunged into war, plague, famine, and death.
This had always been the Heavenly Divine Pantheon’s greatest trump card.
After all, they had no God-King, and they feared being swallowed up by other Divine Pantheons.
So, Veilynn had gone to great lengths to capture the souls of the Four Horsemen.
She had crafted this magic—ready to flip the table at any moment.
Originally, these four horsemen had not lived in the same era.
But each of them possessed an apocalyptic power.
And when all four powers combined—
They created Doomsday.
…
Outside the Bunker.
A shadow flickered in Zeus’s eyes as he prepared to turn and leave.
All he needed to do was wait.
With the entire world’s creatures launching suicidal attacks, the bunker’s ammunition would eventually run out.
But just at that moment!
A sound rang out—a horn blast that pierced the soul!
It was like steel needles relentlessly stabbing into the heart!
“Bwoooom!!!”
Zeus whipped his head around, searching for the source of the sound.
His gaze locked onto the bunker.
“This… What is this sound?! What are you doing?!”
Far away—
Odin, Hela, Horus all heard the sound as well.
In an instant, they teleported closer.
Their faces darkened.
Even as God-Kings, an overwhelming sense of unease filled them.
“No… no… this is Veilynn’s work! There’s no way they would actually use it!!”
Horus trembled as he spoke, his voice filled with fear!
Odin’s expression darkened. “Have you forgotten who killed Veilynn? It was them!”
Aside from the four God-Kings and a few other gods—
The rest of the creatures still didn’t understand what was happening.
“Buzz—!”
At that moment—
Four magic formations unfolded in the sky from different directions!
Red, black, white, and green light surged down toward the earth!
A warhorse neighed!
A strange and terrifying aura spread like a flood!
A red warhorse-riding undead knight charged straight toward the army of creatures!
He ignored physical barriers entirely, phasing through the entire army—
Dragging behind him a long, eerie glowing trail—
Before vanishing over the horizon.
Hela’s expression turned grim. “You fools, that’s the Plague Horseman!”
Plague—without precise medical treatments—was nearly impossible to cure!
Healing magic only worked by overdrafting life force to quickly mend wounds.
Plague, however, was an infectious disease—without destroying the pathogen, it could not be healed.
Zeus immediately covered his nose. “Damn it! Damn those bastards! They’re even more ruthless than I am!!!”
Summoning the Four Horsemen meant the Apocalypse had arrived.
The entire world’s living beings would be purged!
Even God-Kings couldn’t withstand plague, though they could resurrect after death—making it less fatal to them.
However—
If all their followers died first, then once they were infected, it would mean absolute death!
“We underestimated them… Using the Doomsday Horn like this—this is truly playing with fire.” Odin spoke heavily, also covering his nose.
Horus, on the other hand, conjured a high-temperature shield to prevent inhaling the pathogen.
Even so, he had no desire to stay. “I’m leaving first! My domain is still far away—if I set up defenses in time, I might be able to hold out!”
Without another word—he fled immediately!
Odin and Hela exchanged glances, then shouted,
“Heimdall! Activate the Rainbow Bridge! But first, send us to the volcano of the Aesir Pantheon! I need to sterilize myself!”
That’s right—
They planned to bathe in molten lava for sterilization.
Otherwise, if they weren’t careful—
The entire Aesir Pantheon would be covered in corpses!
Plague, in this era, was the real Death—the true catastrophe!
It spread silently.
It had a 100% mortality rate.
There were no medical treatments.
How could they not be terrified?
Shwoom!
A beam of Rainbow Bridge light descended, teleporting Odin, Hela, Thor, and Loki away.
“You…!”
Zeus gritted his teeth in fury. “Cowards! Useless trash!!”
Suddenly!
From within the white magic formation, another warhorse’s neigh echoed!
A knight wielding a longbow charged out.
Behind him—
Countless locusts spawned from thin air!
Instantly forming a massive insect swarm!
It was enough to make one’s scalp tingle!
This was the Famine Horseman—
His endless locusts would devour everything, severing the entire food chain.
If plant life disappeared—herbivores would starve to death.
If all herbivores perished—carnivores would slaughter each other until extinction.
“Zzzzt—!”
Zeus transformed into lightning and instantly charged at the Famine Horseman.
“The dead should stay dead!!!”
His Thunder Spear surged with divine lightning as he thrust toward the horseman’s skull!
However—
It was as if he had stabbed through air—
His spear passed right through.
The Famine Horseman, his face shriveled down to mere bones, slowly turned his head—
And cast a deep, unfathomable look at the attacking Zeus.
Then—
He casually dusted off his faded white coat—and rode off into the distance.
This was an unsolvable magic.
They were now in an untargetable state.
It was impossible to kill them.
Simply put—
This was not Summoning Magic—
This was a direct manifestation of an effect.
The Four Horsemen’s existence was merely a process of the spell unfolding.
“No!!!”
Zeus let out a heart-wrenching roar, his lightning raging violently!
At once—he electrocuted countless soldiers around him!
Then, he entered a frenzied slaughter mode—
Killing his own army nonstop.
Because, to him—these people were already dead.
There was no meaning in them staying alive.
At most, they had half a month left before the plague set in—
At which point, they were doomed!
