Chapter 357: Refraction Magic, The Hidden Refuge of the Pureblood Dwarf Kingdom!
TL: Sungmin
Although there were many strangers, including Lin Tian, traveling with Loael, Monch didn’t find it strange.
After all, whether it was the Old God Organization or the Satanic Cult, they had always been recruiting new members.
“Why are even Goblins being recruited now? Your Highness Loael, is this an induction into the Satanic Cult?” Monch couldn’t help but ask, his gaze filled with disdain toward the Goblin.
Lin Tian’s face immediately darkened.
Loael instantly rebuked him, “Shut up! Apologize to the Goblin King immediately! He is our ally now!”
“What?!”
“An ally?! And not even someone joining our ranks?! Let alone a part of the chaotic mess that is the Satanic Cult?!”
“My god, this is the first time in a century that any force has formed an alliance with us.”
The surrounding members of the Old God Nirvana Organization were surprised.
They started murmuring among themselves while glancing at Lin Tian, because it had been so long since they had seen Loael get angry.
Realizing his mistake, Monch quickly bowed and apologized, “I’m sorry, Your Highness Goblin, please forgive me…”
“That’s your attitude when apologizing?”
Lin Tian’s cold voice rang out again, filled with an eerie chill.
It was obvious—Monch had messed up.
Hearing this, some among the group felt displeased, their eyes showing traces of dissatisfaction toward Lin Tian.
Monch himself hadn’t expected this turn of events and cursed inwardly, “A mere Goblin, acting all high and mighty!”
At the same time, in the distance, Megicula and the hidden Dante also began to feel hostility toward Lin Tian.
As beings of their status among magical creatures, they had never been so arrogant and domineering.
If not for the bigger picture, they would have already taken action and dealt with Lin Tian.
Even Loael felt he was going too far, but she couldn’t say much. “You… do as you see fit.”
Monch was left helpless. After thinking for a moment, he knelt down and bowed his head to Lin Tian.
However, just as he was about to kneel, Lin Tian simply walked away.
“Hmph, boring. If this were before, you’d already be dead…”
“Ugh…”
Monch, still on his knees, froze for a moment, his face filled with confusion as he fought to suppress his inner rage.
He seethed in silence. “Dead? If not for Her Highness Loael, you’d be the one getting beaten to death! Damn Goblin, don’t get too full of yourself! You’re nothing!”
Yet in the end, he had no choice but to hold it in.
Lin Tian walked ahead, barely giving Megicula a second glance before losing interest.
A magic god specializing in curses, with a combat power exceeding forty thousand.
Indeed, a formidable existence.
However, their group now included One-Eyed Owl, a powerful control-negating profession capable of cleansing fields and removing negative debuffs.
Such a presence was hardly worth worrying about.
“What exactly makes this guy so arrogant? Your Highness Loael, who is he?”
Megicula couldn’t help but ask, feeling deeply irritated as she watched Lin Tian walk past her with complete ease.
She had once been the most trusted lieutenant of the Great Demon God Satan himself.
A demon second only to one person in status!
Yet now, she was being ignored by a Goblin—the lowest existence in the magical world!
How could she possibly tolerate this?
That was why she had asked.
To a God-King level existence like Loael, who stood at the pinnacle of the Star Sea, Megicula still held considerable respect.
Hearing the question, Loael was about to answer.
But Lin Tian interrupted, “Hurry up and lead the way. It’s indeed well-hidden—I haven’t found any trace of the Dwarf Kingdom’s existence.”
Due to the contract’s influence, Loael had no choice but to obediently walk to Lin Tian’s side and begin guiding him.
“It’s in the middle of that mountain behind the City of Wicked Sages. Normally, the Dwarves can go an entire year or two without any contact with the outside world, which is why you wouldn’t notice any clues.”
Although most people who came here focused on the City of Wicked Sages, the Dwarves hadn’t been careless either.
They had taken their concealment measures to the absolute extreme.
“Dwarves? Your Highness Loael, what is this about?”
Monch’s expression tensed as he caught up to ask.
Even Megicula grew more cautious.
The Dwarves had a good relationship with the Satanic Cult, after all—they were responsible for crafting God-Slaying Magical Devices to help them reclaim Satan’s physical body from the Divine Pantheon.
At the same time, deep underground, the Blood Demon Dante had also begun eyeing Lin Tian warily.
If any issues arose, he would eliminate him on the spot, regardless of Loael’s presence.
All for the sake of the bigger picture.
Lin Tian suddenly stopped walking and slowly turned his gaze toward a black church in the distance.
“I see… So that’s where the soul of Satan you mentioned earlier is kept?”
He could sense the church exuding a violent surge of dark magical energy!
It was overwhelmingly intense! Incredibly fierce!
Completely different from the aura of ordinary magical beings.
If an average demon’s aura was like a gentle breath of air, then this one was like an erupting volcano!
Even Lin Tian’s expression grew solemn.
“That’s right. Right now, he has pinned his hopes on the God-Slaying Weapon gifted by the Dwarves. That’s why he’s a bit wary about you seeking them out. But don’t worry, Satan is on our side.” Loael explained calmly.
Only then did the raging demonic energy within the church finally subside.
Lin Tian didn’t pay much attention to it. After all, Satan was nothing more than a cripple. Even if he still possessed God-King-level power, there was no need for concern.
At present, aside from an actual God-King or a combined assault from multiple divine pantheons, Lin Tian was an unbeatable existence.
He stood at the forefront of the top-tier powerhouses.
If he were to use the trump cards in his possession, even the collective forces of the Divine Pantheon and a God-King would have to retreat.
“Let’s go.”
Loael resumed leading the way.
Soon, they passed through the City of Wicked Sages and entered a narrow woodland path overgrown with weeds.
Behind them—
A deep, heavy voice, demonic and commanding, rumbled from within the church.
“Follow them. Find out exactly what he plans to do. If anything seems off, kill him immediately!”
“Understood, Lord Satan,”
Megicula and Dante responded in unison.
They began trailing after Lin Tian’s group.
…
Atop the Mountain.
Lin Tian gazed out at the surroundings and the distant horizon. This region was primarily composed of rolling hills, covered in forests of darkened, enchanted vegetation.
A strange feeling welled up within him, though he couldn’t quite put it into words.
Yet, no matter how he looked at it, this place didn’t seem like the kind of terrain where Dwarves would hide.
If anything, they should be concealed deep within a mountain range—just like Bill and his people before.
At that moment, Loael signaled, “Do it.”
Monch, moving at an unhurried pace, skillfully parted a patch of dense grass, revealing a round magical stone hidden beneath.
He began channeling mana into it.
After a brief moment—
The earth trembled violently!
“Rumble—!”
The space before Lin Tian and the others began to shake intensely. Suddenly, in what had seemed like an empty void, a stone gate appeared!
A long, pitch-black passageway stretched beyond it, its air damp and musty.
At the end of the tunnel, some dozens of meters away, a faint light glowed.
Beyond that light—
A massive city wall and grand entrance stood tall. Inside lay an ancient cityscape, its streets bustling with Dwarves of all kinds!
One-Eyed Owl gasped in astonishment.
“Refraction Magic?”
She was utterly taken aback.
“A magic this incredibly rare still exists?!”
She had only ever heard of it in legends.
Never had she actually seen it before.
