From Goblin to Goblin God - Chapter 329
Chapter 329: Is Gobu Yue a God?
TL: Sungmin
“Is that… a Goblin? How could it possibly emanate such terrifying power?”
A few high-tier angels exclaimed in fear.
For the first time, they felt true dread toward a monster.
It was simply too powerful.
Gobu Kuang didn’t waste words and directly launched into the air, attacking with speed and strength that were nothing short of perfection!
One high-tier angel had no time to dodge and was struck down, tumbling into the midst of the monster horde, where it was immediately engaged in battle.
The other angels had no time to react.
The One-Eyed Owl’s fist had already slammed forth again!
It chose the strongest one among them, aiming for a quick resolution to bring the target to Lin Tian.
Currently, Lin Tian needed six more demigods to evolve.
Of course, ordinary angels could also serve that purpose.
But the rarer and more precious the prey, the greater the improvement.
Thus, Lin Tian only intended to devour these six high-tier angels, avoiding ordinary ones whenever possible.
Meanwhile, Gobu Shan activated Wall of Bones without hesitation. “Gobu Tian, the weakest one is yours. Take it down quickly for the boss’s evolution!”
“You all really underestimate me, huh? Let’s see who gets it first!”
Gobu Yue’s body liquefied, dissolving and vanishing from the spot.
It merged into the darkness.
Even though it was dawn, the oppressive demon domains had already turned the surroundings into an impenetrable blackness. Nothing was visible.
Only the angels, glowing with their inherent light, stood out starkly.
At that moment…
Alicenia carried the gravely wounded Nael back to the royal city, walking slowly. “Your Majesty, there’s still one more. I’ll go capture it now.”
“No need. You should rest for now. Thank you, Dame Alicenia,” Lin Tian replied.
He looked down at the unconscious angel on the ground, which still radiated an immense aura of power, his eyes filled with greed.
Evolution was at hand!
Without delay, he began devouring!
The sound of flesh tearing and bones breaking echoed chillingly.
In the distance, Gabriel, locked in combat, felt her heart tighten. She was currently dazzling in radiance, fiercely battling five Demon Gods and Lucifer without faltering.
But she was unable to spare herself to rescue Nael.
All she could do was shout, “Michael! Go save Nael!!”
Hearing this, Michael, who was healing several injured angels, quickly looked over, her heart nearly stopping at the sight.
Nael was covered in blood, her limbs gone, writhing in agony and misery.
Without hesitation, Michael entered combat mode. A beam of holy light shot out!
“Boom!!”
The sky erupted with lightning, and a white light descended.
But what appeared was Three-Life Demon Armor, a special entity composed of the souls of three Fallen Gods.
Its battle strength was over 25,000.
Despite being a monster, it could withstand Michael’s 40,000-strength attack head-on!
The impact only forced it back a hundred meters, landing conveniently near Lin Tian.
“Your Majesty!” Sara let out a sigh of relief.
It was her summoning.
Lin Tian nodded. “Not bad. Three-Life Demon Armor has battle power comparable to Gobu Kuang but possesses unique traits like Gobu Yue, unaffected by holy powers, giving it a significant advantage.”
“I never expected the current era to be this lively. Hehehe! Hmm? Is that a Fallen God as well?”
Three-Life Demon Armor, instead of being intimidated by the chaotic and shocking battlefield, was thrilled.
Suddenly, it turned its attention to Gobu Yue, who caught its eye.
In a flash, it appeared beside her, scrutinizing her closely. “What’s your name? Have you awakened your past memories?”
“I… I… Boss, what should I do?” Gobu Yue stammered, visibly uneasy under the rotting, rusted warrior’s gaze.
Lin Tian suddenly remembered he had intended to ask this thing about details regarding Fallen Gods earlier.
However, he’d refrained due to insufficient strength, fearing it might go berserk.
Now, he instructed, “Just answer whatever it asks. I… have my own problems to deal with.”
Across the plaza, a golden, radiant figure descended. Twelve dazzling wings spread out magnificently.
It was Michael.
Gone was her former playful demeanor, replaced with eyes full of anger and disdain!
Her icy voice thundered like lightning. “Evil Goblin! Release Nael at once! Or don’t blame me for being merciless!”
Yet.
Lin Tian was not one to be intimidated. Instead, he bit into the tender, sweet flesh once more!
Devouring a large chunk!
“Ahhhh!” Nael let out a scream of anguish before passing out from the pain.
“You! Why are you doing this?! Don’t you feel remorse for the sins you’ve committed?” Michael’s once-adorable face was now filled with fury, her anger escalating.
Lin Tian paused, seemingly surprised. “Why am I doing this? That’s hilarious. Why don’t you ask yourselves? Why do you rampage through others’ homes, slaughtering indiscriminately? Did you hear the cries of those demonic humanoids in pain? The wails of monster children who lost their parents?”
Hearing this, Michael stood there, momentarily dazed. “This… this is because you destroyed the Church and killed angels, angering the Holy Tribunal!”
“Destroyed the Church? What utter nonsense!” Lin Tian sneered. “That was the work of the Great Tomb. Not only did I eliminate them for you, but I also saved the last surviving Holy Mother, Katheryn. Shouldn’t you be thanking me? And that angel? While I was battling the Zerg, she suddenly attacked me first. I retaliated in self-defense. What’s wrong with that? Since when could the Holy Tribunal act so unreasonably?”
Lin Tian laid out his points methodically.
Michael blinked again, her fury gradually dissipating as she began to piece things together herself.
It was true. The issue between the Church and the Great Tomb was well-known.
Previously, the conflict hadn’t directly threatened the Church’s survival, and the restrictions of the Covenant of the Gods prevented interference.
Then, the Great Tomb was annihilated by Lin Tian’s forces.
What’s more, all remaining Church members were still alive.
What… the… hell?
Michael’s expression was a mix of surprise and disbelief. “How could this be? Why does he seem… not so evil? And Javier’s death… wasn’t it because she disobeyed orders and ventured into the mortal realm on her own?”
As she surveyed the carnage around her, with monsters lying dead in droves and the wailing cries of the displaced filling the air, Michael began to feel a pang of guilt.
“Ha! I’m actually quite the good guy, aren’t I?” Lin Tian laughed coldly.
But Michael still felt something was off. “Gabriel, have we misunderstood? This Goblin doesn’t seem to be evil, or even a bad person.”
Gabriel was utterly dumbfounded by such an absurd statement. “You fool! There’s no need to reason with monsters, and certainly no need to believe their words!”
“How dare you lose focus? Drop your weapon!”
Buzz!
Dark Holy Word activated!
From the shadows, Lucifer, who had been biding his time, shouted an incantation.
Gabriel’s hand suddenly froze as she mechanically dropped her Sword of Judgement to the ground.
The instantaneous nature of the command made resisting it impossible.
However, beneath her shining silver mask, Gabriel’s eyes gleamed with defiance. “Spear of Judgment!”
Out of thin air, a magic formation materialized, unleashing a radiant golden spear!
With a swift motion, she hurled it backward, sending five rushing Demon Gods flying.
Meanwhile, Michael regained her composure and prepared to attack again. “Goblin, I don’t believe a word you say! Take this!”
“Wait! Are you truly willing to act against your conscience? Do you remember why you became an angel in the first place?” Lin Tian retorted, launching a piercing question to her very soul.
Any seasoned and resolute angel would have attacked without hesitation.
But Michael, with her active mind and less rigid beliefs, began to doubt both herself and Lin Tian.
In the end, she hesitated and lowered her weapon. “You may not be wrong, but Nael, who suffers in your grasp, is my dear friend. For her, I must defeat you!”
Shing!
Her twelve wings radiated a blazing, dazzling light once more.
Lin Tian sighed coldly, his tone chilling. “Ah, I had hoped to spare your life since you’re both beautiful and strong. But if that’s how it is… don’t blame me. Bill!”
“Right here! Hahaha!” From the distant battlefield, Bill, piloting a war machine, launched an ejector.
In moments, he landed in front of Lin Tian, wielding a warblade. Although not particularly large, the weapon, forged from the Tree of Hell, was incredibly heavy.
The blade’s molten lava patterns exuded an aura of pure dominance.
Lin Tian took the blade, smirking. “I’ve been waiting for this.”
“Careful with it!” Bill warned, grinning. “I call it Wrath of Annihilation! If you’re not cautious—”
Before he could finish, his body trembled as streams of light and electricity rained down like meteors.
The sheer sight of it made Bill’s legs turn to jelly.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions echoed as relentless magical bombardments targeted them.
Fortunately, Lin Tian used the blade to block every attack. Though the magic was immensely powerful, its speed left much to be desired.
Bill quickly elaborated, “This blade can absorb attacks and release Hell Lava! It’s forged from the essence of the Tree of Hell, which condenses divine malevolence into fruit…”
“Enough. Go hide somewhere before you get caught in the crossfire,” Lin Tian interrupted. He had no patience for further explanations.
Using the system, he immediately understood the weapon’s properties.
It was a Sun-Class Magical Device.
The blade possessed three Mythic-Class abilities. The first, Thermal Conversion, absorbed incoming attacks, converting them into energy to unleash as Hell Lava.
This made it exceptionally powerful. While Hell Lava was primarily a fire-element attack, its elemental properties made it formidable against most enemies, save those with fire resistance.
The second ability, High-Temperature Resistance, granted the wielder complete immunity to fire-element attacks.
This made it incredibly advantageous against specific opponents, though less so against angels.
The third ability, Temperature Slash, allowed the blade to cut through flesh and bone with superheated precision, preventing regeneration.
The weapon also had additional minor effects, though none were particularly noteworthy.
Given that this was Bill’s first attempt at forging a Sun-Class Magical Device, the fact that it succeeded at all was remarkable.
Lin Tian had ensured the weapon’s forging centered on its three Mythic-Class effects, which made it reasonably acceptable.
What Lin Tian sought was raw destructive power. With Temperature Slash and Thermal Conversion, the blade was versatile for both offense and defense.
Without hesitation, he launched an attack at Michael!
“Hmph, Mythic-Class Magic, Reflective Holy Shield!” Michael activated her defense.
Though she usually seemed a bit foolish, in battle, she was utterly serious. A shield capable of reflecting any attack enveloped her.
Lin Tian frowned, sensing something amiss from the name alone. He quickly activated Jehovah’s Blessing.
His body became blurry and intangible as he phased through the shield, slashing directly at Michael!
“What! How is this possible?” she cried out, unable to evade in time. Raising her arm to block, she was too late.
Golden blood splattered everywhere!
The blade’s superheated edge, akin to a laser, sliced her forearm clean off. Lava clung to the wound, burning continuously, preventing regeneration. She would need to amputate more of the damaged flesh.
But Michael had no time for such considerations, her face filled with fear. “Why are my attacks ineffective? Why can’t my body regenerate? Goblin, what have you done?!”
Fear began to cloud her mind, overwhelming her thoughts.
She took several steps back, trembling.
Lin Tian sneered. “Your stats might be high, but your combat execution is pitifully naive.”
With Wrath of Annihilation, Lin Tian’s combat strength had risen from 30,000 to 33,000. A true Sun-Class Magical Device could push it to around 35,000.
However, with his refined combat techniques, Michael was manageable.
Unlike her, Lin Tian didn’t waste time shouting out skill names before attacking.
From the beginning, Lin Tian had refrained from revealing his abilities. The moment Michael used Reflective Holy Shield, its effects were evident. Acting decisively, he used Jehovah’s Blessing to neutralize the counter and avoid any potential backlash.
“If even she can’t handle a Goblin, what’s the point?” Gabriel’s voice was filled with frustration as she wielded her Judgment Spear, her combat prowess becoming even more terrifying.
She relentlessly suppressed five Demon Gods, leaving Lucifer unable to find an opening. The battle was intense and dangerous.
Neither side could afford a single mistake—injury or death was the price of error.
Michael, under no circumstances, could fall.
Gabriel shouted as she maneuvered the battlefield, “Michael! Pull back and find a way to recover! Use Judgment Scales once you’re ready!”
Blinding flashes of battle light continuously erupted as the combatants converged closer to Lin Tian’s position.
Lucifer, observing from the sidelines, couldn’t help but remark, “No wonder she’s called the Battle Angel. Even in this chaos, she still spares a thought for others.”
The battlefield was a storm of devastation, like a tornado obliterating a parking lot.
Lin Tian avoided the brunt of the chaos, helplessly watching as Michael retreated to the rear of the angelic formation.
However, there was still one left!
Nearby, Avis, her magical energy depleted, was desperately dodging amidst the ruins.
…
“I am who I am. I haven’t awakened any memories. Why don’t you all go help instead, Lady Sara?” Gobu Yue stammered, unnerved under Three-Life Demon Armor’s piercing gaze.
She looked toward Sara for help, her eyes full of desperation.
Sara sighed. “Your Highness, I’ve only made a contract with him; I can’t control him. But he seems not to intend us harm.”
Hearing this, Three-Life Demon Armor grunted in acknowledgment. “Relax. My targets are those damn gods. I’m just curious… before you fell, whose divine servant were you?”
