Chapter 319: A Significant Boost in Combat Power, the Powers of Angels and Demons!
TL: Sungmin
“Boss, so, what about me?”
Gobu Shan’s voice echoed, filled with anticipation.
Yet his expression, paired with his slouched demeanor, looked utterly comical.
These guys couldn’t compare to Lin Tian’s constitution. That intense pain had left them utterly drained.
Lin Tian quickly started to inspect.
[Exclusive Mythic-Class Magic: Follower of the Extreme Dark Evil Bone – The Extreme Dark Evil Bone becomes even harder and tougher, its reach extending across the entire visible range. It can also activate a domain, ‘Wall of Bones.’ Within this Wall of Bones, the user receives the ‘Follower Buff,’ with all parts of their body, including internal organs, turning into evil bones. Even if shattered, their body can immediately regenerate unless vaporized.]
Whoa.
This guy’s luck wasn’t bad at all. Judging from the effect, the fruit he consumed wasn’t skill-based but enhancement-based.
His combat power was even higher than Gobu Tian’s, reaching a staggering 22,000.
“You punk, haven’t you noticed your evil bones have become much stronger? Alright, later, you’ll all follow me to Heart Lake. I’ll guide your training,” Lin Tian said.
Ah, if only he had eaten that fruit himself!
If he could upgrade the system to modify life rather than simulate it, wouldn’t he be invincible?
He could make all the female gods his Star Furies!
The One-Eyed Owl picked up another fruit, exclaiming boldly, “Hmph! This thing seems pretty good. I won’t hold back!”
Saying this, she ate it despite the pain.
However, this woman always cared about appearances.
Even though her pupils visibly trembled, she didn’t make a sound and stood stiffly in place.
Her face turned bright red, and her neck swelled thickly.
Sizzle, sizzle!
As white smoke began to rise, she slowly cooled down.
Despite the lingering pain, she spoke with difficulty, “Quick… let me see… is it an ability or magic?”
There was indeed a distinction between personal abilities and magic.
So far, most of the gains had been abilities. Gobu Tian’s could be considered a mix of both, as it allowed direct attacks after death.
[Exclusive Mythic-Class Skill: Hell Warrior – Doubles all attributes. Can unleash ‘Hell Battle Cry,’ clearing all enemy domains, purging all negative statuses for oneself and allies, and doubling attributes again for ten minutes. Enemies affected by the cry enter a ‘Brittle State,’ taking ten times damage from the Hell Warrior.]
Ten times?
Wouldn’t that shatter them with just one hit?
Lin Tian’s eyes filled with shock. The combat power increased from nearly 20,000 to 26,000!
Currently, it was the highest combat power.
Seeing Lin Tian’s astonished expression, the One-Eyed Owl grew excited. She pressed him eagerly, “How is it? Tell me!”
“Well, do you prefer abilities or magic?” Lin Tian teased.
The One-Eyed Owl responded without hesitation, “Abilities, obviously! I don’t have the patience for magic!”
“Then you’re in luck. Gobu Kuang became a Hell Hero, and you’re now a Hell Warrior. Your attacks can deal tenfold damage. Even gods would shatter with a touch.”
Hearing this, the One-Eyed Owl jumped with joy and pulled Lin Tian into a bear hug, squeezing him tightly, nearly suffocating him.
“Enough, enough! Cough, cough! Big Sis, anymore and I’ll be stuffed,” Lin Tian choked, coughing.
The One-Eyed Owl finally let go.
Sizzle, sizzle!
At that moment, another burst of white smoke rose nearby.
Unnoticed by anyone, Alice had already consumed a Demon Fruit.
Not a single moan escaped her.
As the white smoke cleared, Alice was left slightly breathless, panting softly, “Hah… hah…”
“Hmm?!”
“Alice, your eyes!”
“Does this count as a physical change? But it seems like just her eyes…”
Everyone stared at Alice in surprise, scrutinizing her.
Her originally clear blue eyes now had a golden hue in the left iris, complete with distinct patterns.
Lin Tian immediately thought of someone. “An angel?!”
During the war with the Zerg Empire, that angel’s eyes bore a striking resemblance to Alice’s left eye.
But her right eye was now pure black, slit like a snake’s, with twisted lines radiating outward.
A demon!
Lin Tian, having recently been to Hell, vividly remembered what demons’ eyes looked like.
Alice hesitated and asked nervously, “Your Majesty, what’s wrong with me?”
“Hold on. Let me check closely,” Lin Tian replied.
He opened Alice’s system panel and examined her skills.
[Exclusive Mythic-Class Magic: Sorrow of Heaven – The ultimate sorrow from Heaven. Activating the Sorrow of Heaven grants a fused form of angel and demon, dramatically enhancing strength, countering all species. Can simultaneously create two domains and benefit from both domain effects.]
Her combat power soared from 21,000 to an astonishing 29,999!
“Damn! This woman is even stronger than the One-Eyed Owl!”
Lin Tian exclaimed, staring at Alice in disbelief.
The powers of angels and demons weren’t supposed to coexist, let alone be unaffected by physical form!
The dark thoughts contained within the fruit could not be removed. If consumed, one would not only be influenced by the malevolent intent but also transform into a demon when using the power.
However, none of that mattered now. Alice’s newfound ability ranked among the most powerful of Mythic-Class magic.
“You can now activate a fused form of angel and demon, capable of countering all species. It’s incredibly powerful,” Lin Tian explained word by word, filled with satisfaction.
Thankfully, Alice had chosen to betray the church and humanity. After all, her adoptive father, who had raised her, had been murdered by a cardinal.
Otherwise, with her combat strength at this level, if she went berserk and unleashed the Darkspawn, no one but the likes of a Chief God could stop her.
Hearing this, everyone was stunned, swallowing nervously. “An angel… and demon form?!”
The One-Eyed Owl stared at Alice, marveling, “Lady Alice, you now give off an aura that screams untouchable. How are you always so strong? It’s hard for the rest of us to keep up.”
“Don’t worry, Big Sis,” Lin Tian said. “Once you kill Hercules and learn the method for power surges, you’ll grow even stronger.”
The highest power surge was golden. She was far from reaching that level yet.
The One-Eyed Owl scoffed, “Do you even need to say that? If he really is my father, I’ll make him regret ever stepping into this world!”
“B-Boss, I’m scared to eat this…”
Suddenly, Gobu Yue’s trembling voice broke through.
Her constitution was weaker, and she might not be able to withstand it.
Alice frowned slightly. “Indeed, the intense pain earlier was overwhelming. Princess Gobu Yue might have a hard time enduring it.”
Seeing her tearful expression, Lin Tian felt a pang of sympathy. “Princess Katheryn, Ifreya, do you have any magic that can alleviate the pain?”
“We do, but it has significant side effects. She’ll still end up drained afterward,” Katheryn replied seriously.
Lin Tian waved it off. “That’s fine, as long as Gobu Yue can get through it.”
No matter what, Gobu Yue had to grow stronger. She was his first follower, after all.
Encouraged by Lin Tian, Gobu Yue gathered her courage and consumed the Demon Fruit.
Though she was clearly afraid of pain, she gritted her teeth and remained silent.
Yet soon, she noticed something was off.
Katheryn and Ifreya approached, conjuring magic to ease her suffering.
But Gobu Yue waved them off, her expression of fear and pain suddenly gone. “There’s no need. I can bear it. In fact, I don’t feel any pain at all!”
Sizzle, sizzle.
As the white smoke dissipated, Gobu Yue stood lively and full of energy, looking even more spirited than the One-Eyed Owl.
The others, who had endured excruciating pain, were dumbfounded. “How is this possible? I almost didn’t survive it!”
Even Lin Tian was baffled.
“I don’t know why, but I feel the power coursing through me is… pleasant!” Gobu Yue said, confused.
Lin Tian immediately checked her attribute panel.
[Exclusive Mythic-Class Magic: Holy Resonance – Can elevate all personal magic to World-Class! Additionally, can consume magic power to further enhance it to Mythic-Class.]
Holy Resonance?
Seeing the name, Lin Tian suddenly understood. Gobu Yue carried the title of the Blasphemer. Perhaps her unique adaptability to divine powers allowed her to endure the process without pain.
He congratulated her, saying, “Little Yue, all your magic is now at World-Class level, and you can even elevate it further to Mythic-Class!”
“Really? Let me try! Speed Blessing!”
Buzz!
With Gobu Yue’s chant, she raised her staff and aimed it at Lin Tian.
A magic circle formed beneath his feet, followed by ten beams of light completely enveloping him.
When the light faded, everyone was astonished.
The One-Eyed Owl exclaimed, “Where is he? I’ve only got one eye, but did you all see him?”
“I’ve got three eyes, and I can’t see him either,” Master Bill added in amazement.
Alice detected his aura and turned, pointing. “Found him! His Majesty is over at the main gate.”
Somehow, Lin Tian had already moved to the entrance.
He was too fast!
Even Lin Tian couldn’t believe it. “A high-speed movement buff lasting one minute, ignoring the possibility of colliding with objects… Little Yue, I love you!”
Before he finished speaking, he was already a blur of afterimages.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
He zipped around the square, completing a lap before returning to the hall.
Utterly pleased, he thought to himself how Gobu Yue’s skills—mostly buffs—were incredibly rare, even at the World-Class level. And now, they could be Mythic-Class! How could he not be thrilled?
Hearing this, Gobu Yue blushed. “Boss, I love you too.”
The crowd shared in her joy, visibly excited.
“Your Majesty, what about me? Don’t I get a fruit? Can’t this old bag of bones have a second spring?”
Master Bill joked with a playful grin.
Seeing the various incredible abilities on display, who wouldn’t want one?
But Lin Tian replied, “You’re in a forging profession. Combat abilities won’t be much use to you. There might be fruits that enhance forging, but no one knows which one. The same goes for Sara. For summoners, these fruits aren’t particularly beneficial.”
“By the way, I have something for you,” Lin Tian said, pulling a branch of the Tree of Hell from his spatial ring.
An aura of frenzied malevolence instantly filled the grand hall, making everyone uneasy.
Master Bill stared in surprise. “What is this thing?”
Lin Tian explained, “It’s a branch from the Tree of Hell. Incredibly tough and infused with powerful demon energy. I want you to craft a Sun-Class magical weapon for me—something violent and destructive.”
“Oh, so that’s what this is about! Wait—this isn’t a gift; this is just giving me work!” Bill exclaimed, realizing the situation. He looked utterly crestfallen.
No gift, and now he had extra work. He might as well die now, he thought.
Lin Tian quickly comforted him. “Oh, come on, how could you not get a reward? Once I conquer the Dwarven Empire, you’ll be its king! You’ll also gain access to the best forging techniques!”
Hearing this, Bill’s eyes lit up. “I could… be a king?!”
“Of course,” Lin Tian replied seriously.
For a moment, Bill lost himself in a fantasy. He imagined walking down the streets like Lin Tian, with countless beautiful women rushing to throw themselves at him.
Bliss! Pure bliss!
The sheer delight almost sent him into a mental high.
Nodding fervently, Bill agreed. “Leave it to me, Your Majesty! With such rare material, I’ll put my entire soul into crafting a Sun-Class magical weapon!”
“I trust you!” Lin Tian said.
For now, Lin Tian decided to keep the remaining four Demon Fruits. When Ragnarok was no longer useful, he could eat one himself to gain a new ability.
The One-Eyed Owl couldn’t wait any longer. “Let’s head to Heart Lake already! I can’t wait for your guidance!”
Looking at the group, Lin Tian relented. “Alright. I’ll give you a detailed explanation of your abilities. Then you’ll practice on your own.”
For the next while, everyone trained their abilities and magic by Heart Lake, improving their proficiency.
Lin Tian also tested Gobu Tian’s after-death guaranteed-hit skill to determine its exact nature.
Sometimes, it manifested as an impossibly powerful lightning strike from the sky, blinding everyone for a moment with its sheer brilliance.
Its power far surpassed Lin Tian’s the Spear of Zeus, to the point it couldn’t even compare.
Other times, it formed a magic circle that summoned a massive hand to crush enemies.
Or it might unleash a destructive beam of light from the heavens, obliterating everything in its path.
The results were highly unpredictable, as if someone else was casting the spells for Gobu Tian. It was a fascinating and unique skill.
While the others practiced around Heart Lake, Lin Tian ventured near the large tombs to allocate living territories for the Snow Spirit Tribe.
Standing on a mountaintop, he gazed into the distance.
The vast expanse of snowy plains stretched endlessly, a breathtaking sight.
The cold wind carried an icy sting.
Lin Tian retrieved the World-Class magical artifact, Heart of Apollo, to keep himself warm as he entered the snowy expanse.
The snow spirit chieftain quickly emerged to greet him, accompanied by several trusted aides. They knelt at a respectful distance. “Your Goblin Majesty, it’s an honor to meet you.”
They stayed far away, knowing that approaching closer could cause them to melt.
“Take me to see how the snow crystals are coming along,” Lin Tian commanded.
Following them, he reached a snowy mountain. Below was a massive lake, flat and completely frozen over.
On the lake’s surface, countless snow spirits worked tirelessly to produce snow crystals, which were then carried away by hybrid goblins.
These hybrids, born from goblins and yetis, had thick white fur but were short in stature. They were specifically tasked with transporting the snow crystals.
The snow spirit chieftain pointed across the lake. “Your Majesty, do you see those mountains over there? They’re entirely composed of piled-up snow crystals. However, they’re buried under heavy snow, making them look like ordinary mountains.”
