Chapter 318: Consuming the Demon Fruit, Power of Ragnarok!
TL: Sungmin
Grugia and the others naturally didn’t dare to delay.
“Brother Tian, you’ve come to the right people. Just tell us what you want to refine. Our separation techniques are now so advanced we can extract nutrients even from debates!” Osius chuckled.
Everyone threw him disdainful looks.
The One-Eyed Owl, clearly annoyed, snapped, “Why would you even refine debates? I used to think you were just foolish, but now I see you’re a full-blown pervert!”*
Under the sharp gazes piercing him from all sides, Osius felt utterly humiliated. “I was only experimenting with the technique! Anyway, let’s focus on Brother Tian’s matter.”
Lin Tian gestured to the group with his eyes.
Bill handed over the Demon Fruit, carefully wrapped in cloth. “Here.”
“This fruit contains the divine malice of a god. I need you to extract the divine malice from the fruit. Can you do it?” Lin Tian asked.
That way, he could eat the fruit without worry.
It was a shame Lucifer and the others hadn’t thought of this method before. Thankfully, the Darkspawn had given him a hint. Otherwise, the existence and role of alchemists might have been overlooked entirely. There were simply too few of them, and people had forgotten the importance of this profession.
Hearing this, the two approached the Demon Fruit, activating separation techniques as diamond-shaped light beams formed at their fingertips to scan the fruit.
Grugia nodded. “No problem. I can sense two distinct forces within it. Shall we begin separating them?”
“Wait a moment. The power is immense. If we extract just one, it could cause serious repercussions. I can feel its turbulent, violent energy. Should we separate the calmer force instead?” Osius hurriedly suggested.
Lin Tian waved his hand calmly. “If the divine power is removed, it will lose its value. Leave the divine power in the fruit. I’ll handle the divine malice myself.”
This was where the conceptual magical artifact he’d acquired earlier came into play—the space ring. It could store any inanimate object. divine malice, not being alive, should qualify. He could seal it away just to be safe.
“Master Bill, do you have another space ring from your recent forges? I’ll need one more,” Lin Tian added.
Bill hesitated for a moment, then took a ring from his own space ring. “The materials are incredibly scarce. Besides the one you have, this is the only other one.”
Lin Tian took the new space ring and stepped forward. “Let’s start. Try extracting the divine malice from this fruit.”
The two activated their separation techniques.
A magical formation enveloped the Demon Fruit in a radiant glow.
Swish!
The entire hall seemed to transform into a vast starry sea, projecting molecular-level light and shadows—a truly awe-inspiring sight.
Gradually, Grugia began analyzing the divine malice’s energy, frowning. “This thing is resisting me!”
“Yeah, it’s not as easy as I thought, but resistance is futile!” Osius declared, brimming with fighting spirit.
They forcibly began extracting the divine malice. Their magic formation transformed into a funnel, and an intensely dark, silky, liquid-like aura began seeping from the fruit. It was immediately encased by the magical formation.
As the technique’s space filled with the divine malice, Grugia shouted nervously, “Brother Tian, take this quickly! The barrier is about to break!”
Lin Tian received the magical formation’s sphere containing the divine malice and swiftly sealed it into the new space ring.
The ring quivered briefly in his hand before falling silent.
“Success!” Bill exclaimed excitedly.
Everyone’s tense nerves relaxed.
Lin Tian smiled faintly. “Well done. Keep going; there’s more to handle. If you run out of magical energy, Katheryn, use the Endless Holy Grail to support them.”
“As you command, Your Majesty,” Katheryn replied respectfully.
The two alchemists worked tirelessly, performing as though they were mere tools. By the time all eleven fruits were purified, they were gasping for air, completely exhausted.
Lying sprawled on the floor, Osius groaned as if life had left him. “Brother Tian, I feel so drained… I might not make it. Please take good care of Big Sis…”
“Shut up already!” The One-Eyed Owl snapped irritably.
Hearing this, Lin Tian sighed. “Oh? I was thinking of giving you two a year’s free pass to the Succubus House as a reward. But if you’re not up for it, I’ll change the prize.”
“Wait! I feel rejuvenated already!” Osius sprang up like a zombie, standing bolt upright.
Grugia, too, followed suit, the promise of the reward reinvigorating him.
Holding their reward vouchers, the two left gleefully.
After all, they still had to figure out how to overcome the magical infusion problem in the God-Making Project. If no one could withstand the process, all the effort would be wasted.
Lin Tian picked up one of the purified fruits, his expression solemn as he examined it closely.
“What’s the matter? Too scared to eat it?” the One-Eyed Owl teased.
Alice looked grave for a moment but soon relaxed. “I can’t sense any strange energy anymore. You can eat it.”
“Boss, how about I try it for you first?” Gobu Kuang stepped forward, his face earnest.
This was something others wouldn’t dare to suggest, fearing they might be misunderstood as craving power. But coming from Gobu Kuang, no one found it odd. It was clear he genuinely wanted to help Lin Tian test for any side effects.
Lin Tian shook his head calmly. “No need. If anyone’s testing it, it’ll be me. My Rebirth skill is still functional. Even if I die, it’s not a problem.”
With that, he opened his mouth and took a bite.
“Slurp!”
The next second, scorching juice, like molten lava, flowed from the fruit, covering his hands.
Lin Tian chewed, his expression contorted—it was hot! Unbearably hot! It felt like swallowing a concentrated sun, overflowing with searing energy.
As for the taste? Even if it tasted like a debate, he couldn’t tell. His mouth was completely numbed by the heat. The blistering sensation traveled from his mouth to his throat, down to his stomach, and then spread to his internal organs, eventually enveloping his entire body.
His whole body burned intensely, as though he were a balloon being continuously inflated, on the verge of bursting. Unable to stand, he crouched on the ground, enduring the excruciating pain.
Everyone watched as Lin Tian’s body began to twist unnaturally. His skin and flesh cracked, and from the fissures, instead of blood, fiery magma flowed.
Seeing this, Alice rushed forward to help but was stopped by Lin Tian’s raised hand. “I’m fine. That damned Lucifer could’ve warned me how intense this reaction would be…”
“Zzz…”
Moments later, Lin Tian fully absorbed the Demon Fruit’s power. White steam rose from his entire body.
[Congratulations! You have obtained the exclusive Mythic-Class Magic: Ragnarok.]
“Thump!”
Lin Tian’s heart skipped a beat as he saw the skill name. His pupils constricted.
Ragnarok!!!
Although this world hadn’t mentioned Ragnarok before, Lin Tian, from his past life, knew exactly what it meant—the calamity of gods.
[Ragnarok: Gods you kill cannot resurrect, even if they have followers. Additionally, you can devour their divine cores to enhance your strength.]
Reading this, Lin Tian’s expression turned dark.
This doesn’t provide any direct power boost at all.
His combat power hadn’t increased in the slightest. He had hoped for a jump to nearly 30,000, enough to rival a god. But then, the system’s voice rang again.
[You have slain the false god Beelzebub, devoured their divine core, and gained +1000 Health, +200 Attack, +500 Defense, and their exclusive Mythic-Class Skill: Blood and Flesh Evolution.]
What? That counts as a kill?!
Lin Tian was momentarily stunned. But upon reflection, it made sense. While Mastema, the Demon God, had personally severed Beelzebub’s head, it was Lin Tian’s words that shattered his faith. The disappearance of his followers had sealed his death.
From now on, Lin Tian no longer needed to destroy a god’s faith to kill them.
He quickly checked his attribute panel:
[Lin Tian: Lv106
Race: Goblin (God-Eater x3)
Profession: None
Titles: Blasphemer, God’s Blessing, God-Slayer, …
Health: 6210
Strength: 1746

Equipment: Blood Spear, Life Armor, Elemental Crossbow …
Overall: 25001]
What the hell?
Killing a single false god boosted his combat power by 3,000 points! And it was just a false god!
Lin Tian felt satisfied. With more opportunities ahead, his combat power would continue to grow. His Snow Spirit Tribe’s experience farming base had already piled up mountains of magic crystals. Since his level had no cap, all he needed to do was devour the magic crystals to level up by hundreds, further increasing his power.
The only disappointment was that he could eat only one Demon Fruit, gaining just one ability. If he consumed another, the new power would overwrite the previous one.
“How is it? Did you gain any special power?” the One-Eyed Owl asked nervously.
Everyone else also looked solemn. After all, this was the Demon Fruit of legend, believed to bring world-ending power and the root cause of angelic corruption.
Lin Tian stood up slowly, now calm. “Nothing much. I am now… Ragnarok.”
“Ragnarok?!”
Alice, the One-Eyed Owl, Bill, and even Sara’s expressions changed drastically.
Gobu Yue and Gobu Kuang, on the other hand, had never heard of it.
Alice was incredulous. “Ragnarok? Over ten thousand years ago, during the Age of the Old Gods, Ragnarok destroyed all divine cores, paving the way for the current pantheon. Your Majesty, are you certain you’ve become Ragnarok?”
“Yes,” Lin Tian replied.
The One-Eyed Owl drew a sharp breath. “Hiss! You lucky bastard!”
“Your Majesty is truly supreme. You will achieve unparalleled honor!”
Sara immediately knelt at Lin Tian’s feet, clasped her hands together, and exclaimed with emotion.
“Being able to trigger Ragnarok is such an honor,” she said, so excited that she almost fainted.
Then, Lin Tian pulled out a few Demon Fruits. “You all take these too. Later, we’ll be up against angels, and even the Demigod Empire. Without enough strength, it’s impossible to win.”
The power level of gods had already been made clear through Lucifer.
Gabriel and Michael were both at least over 30,000 in combat strength. He had been too naive before, thinking that slow progress would eventually allow him to win.
If he didn’t rely on some special cheats, he would definitely be crushed in a bloodbath.
He handed the fruits to Alice, the One-Eyed Owl, Gobu Kuang, Gobu Tian, Gobu Shan, and Gobu Yue.
Just the six of them.
Sara, who specialized in summoning, wouldn’t find it very useful, and Lin Tian didn’t entirely trust her.
Bill, being focused on forging, had even less use for it.
Katheryn and the others were in charge of logistics and didn’t need it either.
These core members, however, were the ones who needed to rapidly increase their combat strength.
Without hesitation, Gobu Kuang shoved the fruit into his mouth, swallowing it whole.
He endured the intense heat coursing through him, choking it down in just a few bites.
He felt as though his entire body was about to explode. He struggled briefly on the ground, cold sweat covering his forehead.
Boom!
A powerful black aura erupted from his body—not demonic energy, but pure goblin magical energy!
Without the divine malice, it wouldn’t turn him into a demon.
Lin Tian, observing this scene, suddenly understood. So-called demons seemed to be creatures transformed by absorbing the divine malice.
No wonder gods and demons were irreconcilable foes.
At that moment, Gobu Kuang’s veins bulged as he stood and let out a sky-shattering roar. “Ahhh!!!”
Crack!
The terrifying pressure instantly shattered the surrounding floor.
Lin Tian checked his skill panel and saw a brand-new ability.
[Hell Hero · Exclusive Mythic-Class Skill: Gain the benefits of a demon domain without requiring a domain. Additionally, gain boosts from domains deployed by other demons, allowing domain effects to stack. Rapid physical recovery, immunity to holy-type countermeasures, and resistance to all debuffs and controls.
Domain Benefits: Double health points, +1000 attack power, +1000 defense.]
Immunity to countermeasures and debuffs?
This was like an upgraded version of the Hero’s Power from Troy.
Hero’s Power could at best contend with a demigod’s domain. This ability, however, could rival the domain of a god.
It was excellent—perfect for synergizing with Wrath and Gluttony, making him grow stronger the more he fought.
His combat power, which had originally been over 10,000, skyrocketed to 18,000!
With his stacking attributes, his combat strength could easily reach 30,000.
Feeling the overwhelming power coursing through his body, Gobu Kuang grinned from ear to ear. “Hahaha! Boss, I feel so strong now! It’s like I can keep fighting forever without rest!”
Seeing this, Gobu Tian and Gobu Shan refused to be left behind.
They overcame their fear and swallowed the Demon Fruits directly.
Sizzle, sizzle!
The sound of searing flesh and boiling juices filled the air as their bodies twisted and struggled for a moment. Then, they slowly rose from a cloud of white smoke.
However, their postures were hunched, and they were panting heavily.
Everyone watched them closely. “How do you feel?” they asked.
Lin Tian examined them as well. So far, no one had acquired a skill that altered their appearance.
He activated the system and locked onto Gobu Tian’s skill panel.
[Ashes Rebirth · Exclusive Mythic-Class Skill: Gain the ability to resurrect after death three times per day. Resets daily. Each death triggers a guaranteed critical skill, ‘Final Requiem,’ which inflicts significant damage on enemies. The type of damage—physical, magical, or buff-based—will be random.]
A guaranteed skill?
Lin Tian’s eyes lit up. This meant that even if the opponent had invincibility-type abilities like his, they couldn’t block it.
However, the specific damage dealt wasn’t clear.
This would need to be tested and practiced.
He checked Gobu Tian’s combat power: 20,000! It had increased by 7,000 to 8,000!
“Well done, Gobu Tian. The ability you gained is incredibly strong. Let me explain: you can die up to three times per day and revive. Each time you die, you’ll unleash a random and significant attack on the enemy. You should practice and experiment with it later,” Lin Tian said with a chuckle.
He also explained Gobu Kuang’s abilities.
After all, he had the system to analyze skills, but they didn’t. They didn’t get system notifications and wouldn’t know what powers they had gained without trial and error.
…
The phrase they use for debates sounds like poop in Chinese, which is why Elizabeth was like: you’re a pervert.
