From Goblin to Goblin God - Chapter 297
Chapter 297: A Joint Battle Against a High Demon!
TL: Sungmin
In this world, entirely under Lin Tian’s control, Winnie’s imagination crumbled, weak beyond measure.
Lin Tian could have summoned countless other overwhelming forces, each pulled from novels he’d read in his previous life.
Quickly, the despair of her situation struck Winnie.
“I surrender! I swear I won’t serve Nanavis anymore—please!” she cried after a long struggle, finally realizing the vast gap between her and Lin Tian. What she could imagine was simply too limited.
Lin Tian only sneered. “Too bad. Some things, once done, can’t be undone—like water poured out.”
Winnie, desperate, asked, “W-What do you mean? I don’t recall having any grudge against you! I mostly just sleep in!”
“Blame Scarlett and Gallus if you must.”
As he spoke, Lin Tian activated his imagination, slowing down time in this world by a hundredfold. He wasn’t sure if it would work but decided to experiment.
Upon hearing his words, Winnie’s face filled with hatred. “That vile Scarlett?! And disgusting Gallus? So you’re cursed by Gallus’ envy…”
She even stopped begging him, understanding now that anyone cursed by Gallus would hate him deeply.
“Damn it! Damn it! I’ll never forgive Scarlett, not even in death!” she screamed, struggling against her fate.
Seeing Lin Tian’s sinister smile, she began to sob in terror, feeling hopeless and helpless. Her own powers had backfired against her, turning her own abilities into her torment.
For an untold time, her screams filled the world. Even after dying, Lin Tian resurrected her repeatedly, continuing the torture.
Finally, she perished in unbearable pain.
Humans, monsters, demi-humans, even gods feared high demons. But in Lin Tian’s hands, they were mere toys.
Fear? No, he felt none.
“Guess it’s time to go. This power’s amusing, but not as practical as I’d hoped. It only worked because that arrogant high demon didn’t take me seriously,” Lin Tian mused.
Though he had found the skill entertaining and powerful for imaginative purposes, it lacked usefulness in real combat.
To activate it required a full ten seconds, enough time for even an old lady to run a thousand meters. He also had to stay stationary during use, leaving his real body vulnerable.
As a practical skill, it was too limiting. But for torturing captured enemies? Very useful. It also served well for skill practice, move development, and even mental simulations of enemies and battles.
Slowly, Lin Tian opened his eyes. Around him lay a field of corpses, though he had resurrected the goblins. In this world, he could only alter existing entities, not manifest anything into reality.
Elsewhere lay the lifeless body of the Uninhabited Zone’s monster Winnie, her death in the dream mirrored in reality. Though her body and clothes were intact, her face was twisted in identical agony and despair.
“Lady Winnie… Lady Winnie is dead!”
“How can that be? That expression… what horrors must she have faced?”
“I heard Lady Scarlett say this goblin was terrifying… I thought she was exaggerating, but it’s true!!!”
“Even Winnie’s dead! We… we need to run!”
The monsters who had felt confident moments earlier now fled in terror. Fortunately, Nanavis did not punish deserters but instead watched Lin Tian with cold, dark eyes, astonished for the first time.
She hadn’t expected Winnie to die within her own skill.
“Well, now this is interesting,” she muttered. “A filthy, lowly goblin doing all this…”
“Oh, there’s more fun to come. But, surely, such a noble high demon wouldn’t stoop to killing a lowly goblin like me?” Lin Tian taunted, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
“Would a high demon really go to such lengths to kill a goblin?”
“I’m nothing more than a low-level creature—do I even deserve to die at your hands?”
Nanavis’ expression twisted with frustration, and though she had wanted to strike him down, she hesitated. After all, she was a proud, high demon. Killing a mere goblin would indeed be a disgrace.
Nanavis looked around, her expression growing darker and darker. “Where are Gluttony and Hir? And that fool Ladrick? Where the hell have they all gone?!”
Suddenly, she unleashed a wave of demonic energy so thick and overwhelming it seemed to blot out the sky.
A massive demonic face appeared in the air—a signal to summon her allies. The ominous face could be seen even from the farthest border regions.
But after a long wait, not a single Lord of Sin arrived to help.
“Useless fools… I’ll kill every one of them, then drag in stronger demons from Hell to replace them,” Nanavis seethed with rage.
During her unwilling hesitation, the other monsters had already been swayed by Lin Tian, who had rallied them to his cause.
“Join us!” Lin Tian shouted passionately. “Rise against tyranny! Oppose the demons’ oppression and rule! Kill her, and I will grant you freedom, a peaceful life!”
“Kill!!!”
“For the goblins!”
“For freedom!”
A vast swarm of monsters roared, charging at Nanavis with renewed vigor. Numbering two or three million, the sight was nothing short of awe-inspiring.
Each one attacked with all they had, unleashing their most powerful skills. Fire erupted and demonic energy surged, their fighting spirit now a hundred times stronger than when they had fought against Lin Tian.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
But sadly, every attack they launched at Nanavis proved futile. They couldn’t even scratch the shield surrounding her.
“Pitiful ants… perish!” she sneered, sweeping her hand across them, killing scores of monsters instantly, their screams filling the air. Nanavis began to focus on clearing out the traitors.
And at that moment—
Taking advantage of Nanavis’ distraction, Alice suddenly appeared before her with a swift and deadly backflip strike.
“What?!” Nanavis’ expression shifted as she sensed the full holy power in Alice’s attack. Even she couldn’t take it lightly.
With a sharp crack, her shield shattered, her hair scattering in the air, and she barely avoided decapitation.
“You’re in such a rush to die? Then allow me to—”
Before she could finish, Alice had already retreated back to her original position.
“Bang!”
“Boom!”
In that brief moment of distraction, the One-Eyed Owl landed a powerful punch squarely on Nanavis’ back, slamming her down to the ground, shaking the entire mountain as she hit.
