From Goblin to Goblin God - Chapter 294
Chapter 294: Did You See a Ghost, Holy-type Goblin?
TL: Sungmin
“Hmm? What’s that, daring to look directly at me?”
Inside the grand hall, Nanavis glanced toward the forest just beyond the entrance with a hint of confusion. However, if she didn’t consume the fresh meat before her now, it would soon go cold.
So, she ignored the matter.
Meanwhile, at the gates, Ladrick struggled to his feet, his eyes blazing with an uncontainable hatred. He turned and gave orders, “Lady Nana just instructed that all Demon Kings are to join me at the border to defend against the Holy Alliance’s forces!”
“Huh? Ah… yes, understood!”
The crowd of Demon Kings scattered, departing in haste.
But he wasn’t finished yet.
Next, he intended to get rid of both the Gluttonous Demon King and Winnie of Sloth, to ensure Nanavis felt the full weight of isolation and despair.
However…
On his way to the Gluttony Hall, he happened upon the Gluttonous Demon King himself.
“Ladrick? Perfect timing. I was out searching for food and saw a large goblin force advancing through the forest. It looks like the Goblin Empire’s army from before is launching an attack. Hurry and report this to Lady Nana.” Gluttony spoke gravely, looking rather anxious.
Upon hearing this, Ladrick’s eyes flashed with cold calculation. He feigned alarm, “Is that so? Then you should return and gather your minions while I inform Lady Nana. Oh, and here—this is some food I brought back from the wilderness. It’s delicious.”
With that, he handed over a candy-like object.
Gluttony accepted without question and ate it on the spot.
Only then did Ladrick leave with satisfaction. “Hmph, you actually dared to eat the seed of the Poison Demon God. My apologies, but to rid myself of Nanavis, you will have to die.”
This particular seed silenced anyone who ate it.
Though it appeared to be just a chocolate-covered treat, it would take root and sprout within the body, ultimately growing into a Demon Tree.
This Demon Tree would drain the host’s life force until it killed them completely.
“As for Winnie… never mind. If I let the goblins win too easily, I won’t have the chance to swoop in and reap the rewards.”
Gazing into the distance, Ladrick muttered cautiously, abandoning his plan to deal with Winnie.
After all, Winnie was powerful enough to seriously weaken the goblins, making her useful for his aims.
In the forest…
After Lin Tian’s signal, waves of goblins surged toward the Castle of Pride like a relentless flood.
The ground quaked as they advanced!
At a distance of about ten kilometers, Nanavis finally sensed that something was amiss. She quickly ascended into the sky to assess the situation.
“Is that the Holy Alliance’s army? No… goblins?! Those filthy, lowly creatures actually dare to attack us? Utterly laughable…” Her eyes filled with disdain.
Initially, she hadn’t thought to deal with them, but since they’d come all this way, she might as well wipe them out.
She immediately called out, “Someone, go inform the other lords to bring all their minions and monster troops to crush these ants!”
Yet, after she spoke, no one responded.
Nanavis’s senses swept outward, only to find her minions were gone—located far away at the border.
“Those useless fools… they won’t see the light of day tomorrow when they return…”
Still, Nanavis wasn’t panicked. Instead, she activated a summoning skill granted by the Demon God.
A black aura surged skyward, blotting out the sun!
In the forest, countless monsters’ eyes flashed with a strange light, and, as though compelled, they began marching toward the Castle of Pride.
Nanavis had filtered out the lower-tier creatures, summoning only those of at least sixth-tier strength.
But even then, the summoned army reached five million strong, with tens of thousands above the tenth tier.
Including those below sixth tier, the number of monsters would easily surpass ten million.
This horde dwarfed even the mass of creatures from the Great Tomb, a terrifying sight to behold.
Soon, hordes of monsters started converging on the castle. Though there were no Demon Kings among them, the number of twelfth-tier monsters alone was staggering, their presence forming an almost impenetrable swarm.
In a palace far away…
One of the Demon Kings, after much hesitation, finally decided to wake Winnie, “Your Highness, it appears Lady Nana has activated her summoning skill. Shall we head over to assist?”
Winnie, who could usually never be woken, instantly snapped to attention at the mention of Nanavis.
Not a trace of sleepiness lingered.
She immediately rushed outside to survey the scene.
Sure enough, that towering column of demonic aura was unmistakably the summoning skill.
“What on earth is going on? Oh no, oh no! I have to get there immediately, or Lady Nana will be furious!”
Without another thought, Winnie flew toward the distant castle.
At this moment…
Around the Castle of Pride, monsters had already gathered in the millions, each one incredibly strong and savage.
Among them were countless creatures from the bull demon clan and numerous cannibal eagles.
Monsters filled every available space, nearly crowding each other out.
But none of it could stop the goblins’ advance.
Wherever they passed, trees toppled, rocks shattered—it was as if a machine of slaughter was bulldozing through, obliterating everything in its path!
This time, Lin Tian brought only goblins.
No dragons, no dwarves—he hadn’t brought anyone else. They wouldn’t have been as effective as the goblins anyway.
The holy-type attacks were especially effective against monsters, making the goblins’ efforts nearly twice as impactful.
With contempt in her eyes, Nanavis looked ahead. “Quite a large number of you, but what can ants accomplish, even in numbers? Goblins, tell me, who gave you the courage to come here and face me?”
“Liang Jingru*. Ever heard of her?” Lin Tian’s voice rang out among the gathered goblins as he slowly stepped forward.
At his side stood the One-Eyed Owl and Alicenia.
Seeing this, Nanavis looked slightly surprised. “A human? Interesting…”
“Goblin, yes, you have numbers—nearly ten million, I’d say—but what can a horde of weak goblins possibly change? How unfortunate for you that I won’t give you the chance to regret this… Monsters! Tear them to shreds!”
With a command from Nanavis, hundreds of thousands of fierce, chilling monsters began their charge, roaring and shrieking.
At the same time, the goblin army unleashed a thunderous battle cry, instantly drowning out the roars of the monsters.
In sheer momentum, the goblins completely dominated, surging forward like a massive wave.
The two armies clashed and descended into a chaotic melee.
Nanavis’s eyes held nothing but disdain, as though victory were already in her grasp, just waiting for her to claim it. She wasn’t even in a hurry to fight.
But suddenly, a pure, blinding holy light burst forth within the monster horde, making Nanavis’s expression shift slightly.
Amid the clashing armies, a goblin stood with its hands pressed together, wielding an attack imbued with intense holy light!
With a single strike, the goblin felled a much stronger, sixth-tier bull demon. It wasn’t an instant kill, but the bull demon’s wounds seemed to burn as though on fire, slowly scorching it to death.
And that wasn’t all.
Other goblins, having grown even stronger, began to wield holy light beams.
The effect was immediate and devastating!
Large swathes of monsters collapsed, twisting and writhing in agony, dying as though their injuries couldn’t be healed by any means available.
With near-overwhelming force, the goblins advanced rapidly toward the Castle of Pride!
The monsters arriving from behind could not keep up with the rate of casualties at the front—a stark difference, clear for all to see.
