From Goblin to Goblin God - Chapter 291
Chapter 291: The Palace of Wrath, Hir’s Life
TL: Sungmin
“No problem, he was indeed suddenly killed by a female demon just now and then resurrected. If there are truly only two chances, we can take action now.”
Within the border of the Uninhabited Zone.
After watching everything her familiar had just observed, Alice spoke.
The bond between master and familiar resembled that of a phantasmal insect in some ways. But that was only one among its many functions. Some familiars were exceptionally powerful, each with unique abilities.
Lin Tian nodded. “Let’s deal with the Great Demon King of Wrath first. When the time comes, I’ll confirm the situation, and then you all can handle that high demon.”
Just now, Gobu Tian had led a scouting team into the Uninhabited Zone to gather information. They discovered that the Demon Kings were currently separated, making it possible to focus their attack on one territory at a time. There was no rush, after all—they’d deal with them one by one.
Besides, that so-called “Wrath” had come knocking once before. This matter wouldn’t end so easily.
“All troops, listen up! March into the Uninhabited Zone!”
With that, Alice turned back to the forces behind her and commanded sharply.
Behind them, a vast army of goblins surged forth, emanating a dark, demonic aura. Even though they wielded holy powers, the inherent evil and monstrous nature of the goblins remained unmistakable. In some ways, this army was indeed an anomaly. These were monsters who, paradoxically, could wield divine magic—a blatant challenge to the established rules of the gods.
With a rumbling like thunder, a tide of goblins surged forward, shaking the earth as they advanced. Low, menacing growls filled the air, and each goblin was impatient for the taste of blood.
Standing amidst the tide of demonic energy, Lin Tian smiled with satisfaction, feeling the unstoppable force around him. Sooner or later, he would bring the gods, who sat high above, crashing down beneath his feet. He would overturn this world of blind superstition and religious control, creating a new order—a goblin order.
In a way, Lin Tian was almost a savior. As long as gods had health bars, it meant they could not only be killed, but also captured, like humans, monsters, and demons—to be dealt with like the others. This “divine supremacy” was just a pile of crap.
…
Outside the Palace of Wrath
Hir held a hoe, tending to a small eggplant patch, looking utterly at peace. Unlike the other Lords of Sin, Hir was a devout vegetarian, abstaining from the consumption of humans or any captive creatures. Long ago, Hir had lost control of her anger and accidentally killed her parents, children, husband, and siblings—leaving no one alive. Discovering that vegetarianism could effectively suppress her anger, she hadn’t touched meat in over a thousand years.
“Hir! The food’s ready! Come and eat!” a young demon called from outside the palace.
This young one was the child of Hir’s slain sister, along with a few other orphaned children she’d taken in. The scene was remarkably peaceful, more like a village in the countryside than a den of demons.
Hir glanced at the sky. The sun was slowly rising.
Yes, rising.
Demons typically preferred to emerge at night, and this was the break of dawn. Due to Nanavis’ power, her ability reset at midnight each day, which meant Ladrick’s move had been precisely timed to cancel out her attempts. Judging by the time, dawn was nearly here.
Hir put down her hoe, smiling as she walked toward her meal.
At a roughly assembled wooden table sat two young demons, a boy and a girl, both happily eating from bowls. An elderly demon sat with them—Hir’s grandfather, her last remaining direct blood relative.
The food on the table was simple: roasted eggplant and a salad of radishes and onions.
Hir headed to the kitchen, cutting off a few slices of smoked meat. “Are you two little ones craving this?”
While she kept her vegetarian diet, she wouldn’t impose it on her family—that would be foolish and unhealthy.
“Hir, we’re fine eating the same as you!” said one of the young demons, resisting the temptation.
Hir waved her hand dismissively. “No way, you’re still growing! You need to eat meat. If smoked meat isn’t to your taste, I’ll go catch some fresh game.”
Immediately, the two children dug in, devouring the food eagerly.
“Slow down, slow down,” Hir chuckled, basking in the joy of the moment. This life—one free of fear, filled with peace—was one she cherished deeply.
Just as they were enjoying their meal in this harmonious family atmosphere, Hir’s face suddenly changed. She heard the sound of a large force approaching.
She grabbed the warhammer beside her and headed out.
“Hir, what’s wrong?” one of the young demons asked.
Hir’s expression remained stern. “Stay inside and don’t come out until I’m back!”
Hir reached the doorway and looked out.
In the distance, startled birds flew in all directions, filling the sky. Dust rose up, thick enough to blot out the sun. It was a spectacular, ominous sight.
“What’s going on?! Has the Holy Alliance’s punitive army arrived? No… I need to inform Lady Nana immediately…”
Standing atop the palace, Hir’s face was grim as she spoke. She turned, preparing to head to the Castle of Pride.
Then she froze, suddenly realizing something. “Wait… that direction… that’s the wilderness. The Holy Alliance’s army wouldn’t come from there…”
A sharp, chilling sense of dread gripped her.
“Damn it, it’s that goblin, isn’t it?!”
Hir’s heart raced with panic. She understood Lin Tian’s power well, and there was no doubt he was coming for revenge.
She leapt down, ready to gather her family and retreat to the Castle of Pride for safety, planning to summon an army of monsters to resist him.
Just as she reached to push open the doors—
“Shwish!”
A frigid blade of sword energy sliced past her, grazing her face.
“Boom!”
In an instant, the blast obliterated her entire vegetable garden.
Hir’s expression turned ice-cold, her grip tightening on her warhammer, the muscles in her hand straining with tension.
Emerging slowly from the forest was Alice, her doll-like face eerily devoid of expression, both beautiful and ice-cold.
Hir eyed her warily. “Who are you? Someone from the Goblin King City? That doesn’t seem right…”
“Correct! We’re here for revenge!”
“Shwish!”
From the opposite side of the forest, the One-Eyed Owl shot out, her fist hurtling straight at Hir!
Hir quickly raised her warhammer to block the blow. Forced back several steps, she barely managed to steady herself.
Surprised, she murmured, “How is this possible? Are you human? No… a demigod?”
A human wielding such overwhelming strength was unheard of, even in the thousands of years she’d been fighting. Only Heracles, the demigod of the Great God Empire, could compare in sheer might. Of course, Heracles was even more terrifying in power.
“Not quite a demigod,” the One-Eyed Owl said coldly. “My disgrace of a demigod father disappeared after I was born. That’s all.”
Hir was taken aback. “Just a demigod’s bloodline? Among humans I’ve met, only Heracles was stronger than you, but he’s a true demigod…”
The One-Eyed Owl’s face twisted in disdain. “Do you ever shut up? Is this your last speech? Boring!”
“Boom!”
With that, she swung another punch!
Instantly, Hir’s fury rose to its peak, her eyes turning white as explosive energy surged around her. Her hair whipped wildly in the air.
Hir threw a counterpunch, meeting One-Eyed Owl’s strike head-on!
For a moment, their furious power clashed evenly.
But from behind, that deadly, icy sword was creeping ever closer.
…
I’m guessing author left a few plot holes about Hir’s family, but it doesn’t really matter ig. Originally he said they were still alive, but I guess he meant more distant relatives, not literally father and siblings.
