From Goblin to Goblin God - Chapter 277
Chapter 277: Let Demons Know What True Demons Are!
TL: Sungmin
“P-please… Lady Nana… I’m sorry… It won’t happen again, I swear… Please, just stop… I feel like my insides are about to burst out of my throat…”
Ladrick gasped, his face twisted with agony and pale as iron.
Only then did Nanavis let go, turning on her heel and walking away.
With a dull thud, Ladrick collapsed into the mud, utterly humiliated.
Watching Nanavis depart, a flash of murderous intent ignited in his eyes.
Raging, lethal intent.
He silently cursed, “Damnable half-breed scum! I was going to wait a few more years to kill you, but you’re clearly in a hurry to die! Just wait until the next Blood Moon. I’ll make you regret you were ever born!”
But he quickly quelled his killing intent.
He feared revealing too much.
Scarlett hurried over to help him up. “Are you alright? Can you still help me kill the goblins?”
“I’m fine. Goblins… I’ll make sure every last one of them is wiped out,” Ladrick growled, his teeth clenched as he fought to regain his calm.
Since he couldn’t kill Nanavis yet, he’d just take his fury out on the goblins for now.
Hearing this, Scarlett’s worries faded.
“Ahh~~” At that moment, Winnie yawned and said lazily, “Are you all still here? I’m heading back to get some sleep.”
“Suit yourselves,” said Glutton with an eager gleam in his eye. “I’ll stay and finish up the food here.”
The corpses littered around were a feast for him.
So Scarlett, Ladrick, and Hir departed together.
However, as they passed through Hir’s territory, she said, “I’d better go join my father and siblings for a while. Let’s meet up again another day.”
“Of course, Lord Hir. Thanks for all your help earlier. I’ll be back with that goblin’s head to show you!” Scarlett declared, brimming with pride.
Hir gave a nod, not quite sure how to respond. “Alright then, I’ll be waiting.”
“Big sister! You’re finally back—we’ve been waiting for you!” cried several small demons, bounding towards Hir from afar.
Each one bore tiny, sharp fangs, and they bounced excitedly.
Hir quickly hurried to meet them, vanishing with them into the depths of the forest.
Back in the Palace of Lust, Ladrick finally spoke, “Now, tell me everything you know about the wilderness there. I’ll analyze it further.”
Scarlett, full of anticipation, eagerly recounted all she knew.
After all, she’d spent the past weeks gathering a lot of information.
She spoke of the layout of the Goblin King City, notable demi-humans and monsters within the city, the strength of Lin Tian, his inner circle, and the hidden cards in his hand.
“The most crucial threat,” Scarlett said seriously, “is a swordswoman named Alice. Her holy-based attacks are exceptionally powerful.”
Her voice took on a sense of urgency. “I’ve told you everything. So, darling, when will you kill that goblin? I was humiliated in his hands and nearly lost my life! That goblin is truly unbearable!”
“I understand your frustration. But, considering his powerful allies and the unknown ability he used to instantly kill Gallows, a direct confrontation is clearly unwise.”
Ladrick paced the grand hall, deep in thought, careful and deliberate.
Scarlett grew impatient. “Oh, come on, darling. Are you really up for this? Weren’t you the one who didn’t even take that goblin seriously before?”
She’d sacrificed fifteen hundred years as a star wrath to secure the aid. A customer could have expectations, after all.
Ladrick snapped back, “What’s with the rush? I’m not some arrogant brute like Nanavis. Besides, it’s not that I think lightly of that goblin—it’s Alice that warrants my caution.”
He paused, a dark smile spreading over his face. “I have a plan. Didn’t the Holy Alliance recently invent something called explosives? We seized a decent amount recently…”
“We can arrange for the Peacock Demon Clan to perform a ritual dance to lure him outside. Then, I’ll hide the explosives and blow him to bits.”
He finished, a malevolent gleam in his eye.
Scarlett, however, looked skeptical. “Explosives? Isn’t that a pretty low-level method? How can you be sure it’ll kill him?”
Compared to magic powerful enough to obliterate entire cities with a single gesture, explosives seemed trivial.
Ladrick gave her a look as though she were foolish. “You don’t understand. Explosives don’t contain any magical energy, so they won’t be detected. And the instant they detonate, no one can react in time. No matter how powerful his defensive skills are, he’ll be dead before he can activate them.”
“Sometimes, the simplest and most direct approach is the most effective. If the explosives don’t kill him, we’ll just try something else.”
At last, Scarlett seemed convinced.
It made sense, after all. Explosives were indeed difficult to detect and could be planted in the ground undetected. Then, they’d only need to station Peacock Demon clanmembers nearby to ignite them at the right moment.
“At most, a few subordinates might die, but who cares about that.”
With a wicked grin, Ladrick immediately set to transporting the explosives. “Heh, heh, heh… Even if it doesn’t kill him, it’ll still take out half the city, won’t it?”
Inside the storage facility, the mountain-like stacks of explosives were a sight to behold.
…
The next day.
Goblin Empire.
In the central plaza, everyone lay sprawled on the ground, drunken from the previous night’s revelry, only stirring as the sun began to hit their faces.
Only Alice had stayed sober, keeping watch the entire night.
As soon as she saw Lin Tian wake, she rushed over, her voice filled with urgency. “Your Majesty, when are we going to kill those damned Lords of Sin?”
Her eyes held a fierce, unyielding resolve, the murderous intent stronger than ever before. It was clear she was genuinely determined to kill.
“Ah? We’re finally going to wipe out those damned demons?” exclaimed the One-Eyed Owl, equally excited. “I’ve been itching to feel their flesh explode under my fists!”
Gallows’s interference had stirred a deep, seething hatred in everyone.
Even Bill was furious. “To dare disrupt my honeymoon festivities! I’ll make them taste the wrath of a dwarf!”
Lin Tian had previously sent someone to warn Bill to be cautious and not to overindulge with his new consorts. He’d told him it was due to the risk of a Curse of Envy that could lead to sudden death, which only fueled Bill’s outrage.
Everyone was brimming with fighting spirit.
Having followed Lin Tian for so long, they too craved the thrill of battle.
But Lin Tian held up a hand and spoke sternly. “Remember, the enemy includes Demon King-level beings, along with a high demon. We need a few more days to strengthen our forces. Once I’ve tested each of your combat levels, then we’ll go kill those wretches!”
If anyone bore the deepest hatred, it was Lin Tian himself.
For no reason at all, they had come seeking trouble with him—there was no way he’d let that slide.
“Demons… I’ll make them see what a real demon is.”
Lin Tian clenched his teeth and continued.
No one argued; it was true they needed to consolidate their power first. The Lords of Sin were no trivial foes.
