From Goblin to Goblin God - Chapter 275
Chapter 275: Futile Struggle, Blood and Tears
TL: Sungmin
“This… how is this possible!? Six Demon Kings, all gathered here, and so many demons lurking below! No wonder I felt so uneasy!”
On the ground.
Aphame screamed in his mind, his heart racing uncontrollably! It felt as if it might burst from the pressure of those devils in the sky!
Even his soul seemed ready to flee in terror!
With a host of demons capable of snuffing out their lives as if they were nothing standing right before him, who wouldn’t be terrified?
Even Elise appeared tense, her shock held silently within. “Is that the high demon Nanavis? What an overwhelming pressure—it’s as if even the rain has lessened.”
As for the soldiers, their reaction was no different.
The terror radiating from the six Demon Kings nearly suffocated them!
In that moment.
Aphame’s heart felt as though it had been struck by lightning!
His entire body twitched, a strangled gasp escaping him!
His face contorted, his pupils stretched wide and trembled uncontrollably!
For he had locked eyes with a pair of sinister, blood-red eyes!
It was Nanavis herself!
Her gaze brimmed with disdain and contempt as she looked down on them as if they were insects, her chilling voice seeping downwards: “Found you, little bugs~”
“Ah! Wh—why is this happening?!”
An invisible force suddenly clamped around Aphame’s throat! His body rose slowly into the air, his face turning ashen as he struggled to breathe!
Nanavis had her hand extended—it was her doing.
She could freely control creatures whose power was weaker than her own, although her abilities of instant kill and resurrection could only be used twice.
In that instant, several soldiers revealed themselves, shouting anxiously, “Captain! Damn demon, let—let our Captain go!”
Slash!
Just as one soldier began to speak, a swarm of demons dashed forward and tore him to shreds!
“Do not show disrespect to Lady Nanavis…”
The sheer number of demons that suddenly appeared froze the remaining soldiers in place, rendering them silent with fear.
Their faces were filled with terror! Horror!
Ladrick spoke with a mocking tone, “So you’ve been hiding here all along. Well, that makes things simple—kill them all.”
“World-Class Magic · Thor’s Call!”
Crackle!!!
Zzzzzzz!!
Massive white lightning bolts, as thick as bowls, rained down fiercely from the clouds upon Nanavis!
At least dozens struck her simultaneously from every direction!
These bolts bore the force to annihilate everything, swallowing her whole.
Yet, Nanavis disdainfully flung Aphame like a dead dog, sending him hurtling a thousand meters before he crashed into a massive stone with a deafening boom.
Facing the descending torrents of lightning, she spoke indifferently, “World-Class Magic · Dark Demon King Shield.”
A red-black barrier enveloped her.
All of the lightning strikes were absorbed completely.
To shatter this shield in one blow would require either overwhelming power or an attack imbued with holy energy.
Unfortunately, Elise was merely a white-robed archmage and hadn’t mastered holy magic.
But even so, her ability to amplify magic was formidable.
“How could she block it so effortlessly? So, this is the power of a high demon…” Elise muttered, dread filling her heart.
She had just cast Thor’s Call, one of the highest forms of world-class magic. It had only been possible due to the stormy weather—ideal conditions for summoning lightning.
But even that was useless.
With disgust and scorn, Nanavis sneered, “A wench from the Star Sanctuary? Trying to ambush me? Heh, I’ll make sure your death is slow and miserable…”
Saying this, she reached out with a hand toward Elise!
Sensing the imminent danger, Elise quickly activated her shield, immediately pulling back to maneuver and avoid Nanavis’ grasp.
Nanavis’ magic allowed her to control creatures weaker than herself in combat power but was not merely a power of telekinesis.
When her invisible grip touched Elise, it bounced off. Had it been telekinesis, Elise would have been flung into the air instantly!
A hint of malice flashed in Nanavis’ eyes. “Futile struggle…”
Boom! Boom! Boom!!
Elise darted around, with explosive blasts erupting right behind her!
If she were caught, her fate would be sealed!
The attacks came so densely that she had no chance to cast a counter-spell.
At this point, Aphame staggered back, wounded and battered. “Everyone, attack them now and hold them back! Let a few of us escape!”
“Wha—this…”
The soldiers froze, stricken with terror and despair!
Because this order meant they would go to their deaths so that a few might escape to report the situation.
If they all fled, it would be a slaughter with no survivors. No one would make it out.
Yet, with some staying behind to resist, at least a few could make it back to report that only six Demon Kings and a gravely wounded Garros remained among the Sin Overlords.
It was crucial information.
That was why Aphame commanded, “What are you all standing around for? Get moving! Help Lady Elise disengage from the fight. If she gets the chance to use magic, we might still have a shot! If she dies, we’re truly finished!”
“For the Holy Alliance! Charge!!!”
“For… the ideals of the Silver Wing! For our honor!”
“Damn demons! Even as a ghost, I won’t let you get away!”
With a fierce battle cry, six thousand soldiers charged forward with resolute determination. Each one gritted their teeth, veins bulging on their foreheads, driven by a desperate desire to tear at least a piece of flesh from Nanavis and her kind, even if it meant dying in the process.
But unfortunately, reality was never so kind.
Gluttony floated slowly toward the front of the advancing army.
“Mythic-Class Magic · Devouring Black Hole…”
Riiip!
In an instant, his withered arm burst through his clothing, revealing tightly coiled muscles.
Then his entire body began to swell at an alarming rate!
Five meters, ten meters… thirty meters!
A grotesque, mountainous creature resembling the demonic Bogang appeared in front of the advancing troops. Its bloated, black-purple flesh sagged to the ground, riddled with repulsive lumps.
Like a small mountain, he blocked their path entirely!
And yet, this thirty-meter size was far from Gluttony’s limit; it was merely sufficient for dealing with these soldiers.
In the middle of his grotesque belly spun a black hole, pitch-black and as ominous as the abyss.
With a swipe of his hand, Gluttony grabbed a dozen distracted human soldiers and tossed them into the black hole on his belly.
Along with fragments of earth and stone, everything was instantly absorbed and digested.
Thus began a gruesome feast of devouring!
Seeing this, Aphame shouted urgently, “Scatter! Leave only a few hundred to engage the Gluttonous Demon—that’ll be enough. Spread out so you’re harder to grab! The rest, focus on the other demons!”
“Kehehe… a dying struggle, is it?”
Ladrick flew off to the side, immediately drawing the attention of over a thousand imperial soldiers who began pursuing him.
However, he did not engage them directly, instead leading them further into the forested no-man’s land ahead.
“Chase him! That big demon is probably Ladrick the Greedy. His combat power isn’t that high—we might be able to take him!” one soldier reasoned aloud.
But another nearby hesitated, “Ladrick is a terribly evil and cunning demon. Haven’t you heard? If we chase him, we’re going to our deaths for sure!”
“Then would you rather face the other Demon Kings?” the first soldier retorted, gesturing toward the distance.
Smack!
Just as they turned their heads, a rain of severed limbs and splattered blood flew in their direction, scattering everywhere.
Hir had switched from her Bloody Battleaxe to a massive hammer, slaughtering soldiers with reckless abandon in the crowd.
Their armor couldn’t withstand her ever-growing strength.
At first, her hammer blows only left them alive—but now, one swing was enough to shatter them into pieces, leaving not even a whole corpse behind!
