From Goblin to Goblin God - Chapter 272
Chapter 272: Someone, Please Help Me Kill Lin Tian!
TL: Sungmin
This scene was beyond Lin Tian’s expectations.
Although he knew Alice would probably hold onto this and might even ask about it when no one else was around.
But he hadn’t imagined she would kneel before him!
He rushed forward to help her up. “Lady Alice, I already said it doesn’t matter to me, and that was a curse from the Lord of Sin. It has nothing to do with you.”
“But… can you still trust me like before, after I said those things?” Alice murmured, full of remorse and unwilling to stand.
Guilt overwhelmed her.
Lin Tian gently lifted her chin, locking eyes with her as he spoke intensely, “Do you think our story will end so easily?”
Hearing this, Alice suddenly threw herself into his embrace, like a young girl shedding all her disguises.
…
On the plaza, they had brought in a bounty of fresh beef and lamb. The animals were slaughtered on-site, seasoned with spices, and prepared for roasting.
A towering bonfire was piled up, forming a pyramid of wood.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Spark opened his mouth and released a small fireball, igniting the bonfire.
Lin Tian and his companions began enjoying their time together.
They reminisced about their journey, feeling deeply moved by all that had happened.
…
In the Uninhabited Zone.
The Palace of Lust.
Surrounding the palace were incredibly provocative sculptures, lifelike in every detail.
Even a stray dog wandering in would likely get “excited” on the spot.
A black shadow flitted across the sky.
It was Scarlett.
A moment later, Hir emerged swiftly from the forest.
“What happened, Lord Hir? It’s one thing for Gallows to die, but why even you…” Scarlett’s face was full of disbelief.
Because this would make Lin Tian seem even stronger!
The stronger the enemy, the worse her own fate would be.
Hir, leaning against a sculpture and panting heavily, replied, “Hah…hah… It felt like divine punishment! If I dare act again, I’ll be killed in an instant. I can’t help you with this—you’ll have to handle it on your own…”
As she spoke, she hastily pulled her hand back from the sculpture.
She’d accidentally placed it on a “voluptuous” statue.
“Could you maybe stop building so many of these? It’s way too vulgar,” Hir said, irritation coloring her expression as she walked off in disgust.
Upon entering the Hall of Lust, she found the other Lords of Sin waiting.
Gluttony sat at the table as usual, delicately consuming fresh, bloody meat.
Winnie of Sloth was still peacefully snoring away.
Lord of Greed Ladrick, stood up when he saw Scarlett and Hir return. His voice tinged with curiosity, he asked, “Well, my dear, did you manage to kill the goblin? And what about Gallows?”
“Gallows… he’s dead. The goblin wasn’t killed either,” Hir spoke first, collapsing tiredly into a chair and stretching.
She added, “I’m not getting involved in this. Like Winnie, I’d rather just sleep.”
At this point, Scarlett cried out in panic, “Lord Ladrick, you—you have to save me! That goblin is terrifying! I don’t know why, but Gallows suddenly died, and even Hir doesn’t dare fight him! He’s coming to kill us! I don’t want to die!!”
She rushed up to Ladrick, clutching his hand in desperation.
Nearby, Gluttony calmly remarked, “Gallows died? Now that’s unexpected. Ordinarily, he could kill anyone he wanted to…”
“Calm down and tell me everything,” Ladrick said, his interest clearly piqued.
Everyone seemed surprised to hear that Gallows had died.
Then Scarlett recounted the events in full detail.
Her fear, deeply embedded, left her teary-eyed. “Please, someone help me! Lady Nanavis won’t help, and I don’t even dare to ask her—I’ll die for sure!”
“No need to panic. I can save you, but… what’s in it for me?” Ladrick smirked, his eyes gleaming with greed as he looked at Scarlett.
Scarlett’s heart sank at his words. “What? We’re on such familiar terms, and you still need payment? Besides, knowing your nature, I probably can’t even afford what you’d ask.”
Greed was called the Great Demon King of Greed for a reason. He never missed the perfect moment to demand a price, making it impossible for anyone to refuse, even if they knew they’d be fleeced.
And now was one of those moments.
Gallows’s death had driven the potential price even higher.
“Our relationship doesn’t seem as close as you think~” Ladrick said mockingly.
Scarlett hesitated, then, gritting her teeth, forced herself to speak, “I don’t have much to offer. But I’ll serve you for a hundred years. Will that be enough?”
“Do you think I’m so shallow? Such petty desires can’t possibly satisfy me,” Ladrick replied coolly, making his intentions clear.
He had absolutely no interest in lust.
Scarlett felt utterly helpless. “But… but this is all I have to offer.”
Ladrick waved her words away. “No, you misunderstand. My price is a thousand years. Serve me with your best efforts and utmost dedication for a thousand years, and then I’ll agree to kill that goblin for you.”
“A thousand years! And… and with complete devotion to serving you? Isn’t that a bit much?” Scarlett’s voice rose in distress, her tone thick with grievance.
It was barely any different from being a slave—and for a thousand years! She might as well go back to living in hell.
But Ladrick only laughed, his smile widening. “I’ll give you three minutes to think it over. If you take longer, it’ll be fifteen hundred years. And if you do return to hell, a new middle demon will replace you. You’ll never again enjoy the taste of fresh human flesh, the freedom of open air, or the wild, countless races on whom you can satisfy all your cravings~”
“You… you’re despicable!” Scarlett nearly screamed in frustration, though this was entirely Ladrick’s nature.
The demand of a thousand years was already outrageous.
But by adding an even more unreasonable alternative, he cornered people into choosing the lesser evil.
Ladrick chuckled softly. “Despicable? This is straightforward business. You’re free to refuse. I’m not forcing you, am I?”
Scarlett’s despair deepened; her tears streamed down uncontrollably.
“I’m such a fool! Why… why did I provoke that goblin?! Lord Hir, please, I’m begging you. Help me!”
She looked desperately around the room, pleading for assistance.
But Gluttony was no help.
As for Winnie, she was an unmotivated recluse who wouldn’t even consider moving unless a Demon God commanded her.
Now, her last hope rested on Hir—who still seemed shaken. “I won’t risk opposing him again. You’re on your own. Besides, I have younger siblings here who need me. If I die, they’d be left to an awful fate.”
“Gluttony, can you please help me? Just try to deal with that goblin?” Scarlett looked at him with pleading eyes.
However…
Gluttony paused his knife mid-slice, giving her an earnest look. “I only eat, Lady Scarlett. I’m sorry…”
“Two minutes left. You’d better decide quickly~” Ladrick’s cold, mocking voice reminded her, filled with dark amusement.
