Evolution from Carp to Divine Dragon - Chapter 375
Chapter 375: Successful Strike
TL: Etude
Zhang Tiansheng, upon thinking this, took out his phone. However, being deep underground, there was no signal.
“You all keep a close eye on the situation here. If there’s any abnormality, report it immediately. I’ll go contact headquarters.” His gaze shifted to the members of the HXLZ team as he spoke.
“Yes!” The crowd nodded in agreement.
…
Meanwhile, in the main command room at HXLZ headquarters, Zhang Tianyang and others were intensely watching a large screen. The special satellite radar showed red dots approaching the moon.
“Launch!”
After estimating the positions of these approaching spacecraft, missiles equipped with hydrogen warheads were fired. The distance between Earth and the moon was about 384,000 kilometers, making it impossible for conventional missiles to reach the moon. However, with the constant discovery of civilization ruins and recent acquisition of some spaceships, there had been some technological inspiration, leading to advancements in thermal weapons.
Now, using rocket propulsion to break through the atmosphere, the missiles disassembled and shot towards the moon. Precision strikes were still not achievable, but with the number of spaceships, including massive ones, hitting a target was likely.
“We must succeed.” Zhang Tianyang clenched his fists, staring at the screen, visibly tense.
It was the first time launching such missiles towards the moon. Everyone in the room watched the radar screen anxiously. Red dots represented the spaceships, and green dots represented the missiles. Missiles from various countries had already left Earth, heading towards the moon, targeting the approaching spaceships.
Luo Xue stood nearby, her expression also tense. Ideally, the warhead missiles would cause a powerful explosion, potentially destroying the spaceships. However, if the spaceships had special defenses, the outcome was uncertain.
As time ticked by, the radar screen showed the green and red dots converging.
“Successful impact and detonation!” The personnel around exclaimed in excitement. It had successfully detonated!
“Yes!” Zhang Tianyang’s face lit up with excitement. If these missiles could directly hit the spaceships, they might be able to shoot them down. The approaching fleet posed a significant threat to all countries. No one knew where this large group of spaceships might land on Earth, and any country would face immense trouble if they did.
“Spaceship signals are disappearing!”
“We likely hit them!”
Soon, the personnel on the other side reported.
“It seems to have worked!” Zhang Tianyang’s colleague breathed a sigh of relief.
As long as they successfully shot down those spaceships, the danger would significantly diminish.
“Wait… It looks like it’s not over yet!”
Zhang Tianyang’s eyes were fixed on the radar screen. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that many red dots had disappeared due to the recent explosions, but quite a few remained. These spaceships were moving from the moon towards Earth. Moreover, additional red dots were emerging from the moon.
More spaceships! There were spaceships on the moon as well!
“The moon might have had an ET base built there long ago,” Luo Xue said, her face serious as she watched the scene.
“How is that possible? We didn’t detect anything before…” A middle-aged man, hearing Luo Xue’s words, looked grim. If this were true, the situation for Earth would be even more dangerous. These ETs had built a base on the moon without anyone noticing!
“Mr. Zhang, what do we do now?” The others turned their gazes towards Zhang Tianyang.
“Initiate Level One alert immediately!” Zhang Tianyang’s eyes were glued to the screen as he growled.
Damn it! Although the missiles had successfully hit and detonated the spaceships, not all of them had been taken down. More spaceships were now emerging from the moon and heading towards Earth!
“Yes!” The others responded promptly to Zhang Tianyang’s command.
“Activate Plan B immediately!” Zhang Tianyang directed his gaze at the computer operators.
“Yes!” They responded quickly.
Plan B was the contingency plan in case the initial mission failed. It involved launching a massive barrage of missiles at the spaceships as they approached Earth. Previously, the spaceships’s speed made targeting difficult, and there was a concern about causing global panic. However, the situation had changed. Earth’s technology had improved, and with the global disclosure of mutant creatures, there was no longer a need to fear public panic.
…
“Mission failed!?”
Meanwhile, in Longyin City, Zhang Tiansheng had successfully contacted headquarters. Hearing the news from HQ, his expression grew extremely serious. The missiles had struck and destroyed some of the spaceships, but only a portion of them. Now, even more spaceships were emerging from the moon.
Could there be ET bases on the moon? The thought made Zhang Tiansheng’s eyes widen slightly.
“Tell Zhang Tianyang that we have also encountered some anomalies, possibly due to the approaching spaceships…” Zhang Tiansheng briefly described the recent occurrences.
“Got it!”
“These spaceships are about to land. The plan from HQ and other nations is to use missiles to attack them.”
“The missiles are being launched as we speak!”
